My take away from the game is that it was poorly coached and a win was given away. Up two scores at home in the 4th quarter?
Thank goodness it only takes 3 but will it even matter if this is the product being turned out the last few years?

They could have 22 D1 kids it wouldn’t matter the problem is deeper.

15 point lead 4th quarter less than 10 minutes…that isn’t talent that’s a culture issue
It sounds like they either turned the ball over or didn’t run enough clock out, but they were scoring at will ? Montini defense looked helpless

Few picks down the road but the writing was on the wall already.

I’m a Debbie Downer always and while I had this one as a loss heading in, the way they lost is very scary.

It’s just not what you would expect from Naz at home up 15 in the 4th with D1 talent.

I’m begging for someone to convince me I’m wrong but it’s tough to see what happened tonight and not say there is big trouble in little LGP and it’s not just with the Minnesota Vikings QB depth chart.

That’s ominous …sounds like bad clock management or something more insidious? Whats so scary

It was a great game. You can criticize both teams, but Naz, late in the 4th let Montini have time to come back. Naz QB is very good and No. 7, the receiver is fast and always a threat. What the end of the game showed is why Izzy is going to Miami.

I likely won't go to many more games until the playoff, I am glad I didn't miss this one.

You hit the nail on the head, the last 5 minutes of the game was bad clock management on the part of Naz. They should have burned up that clock. They didn't and that is the rest of the story.

I was watching the game from a Montini fan point of view, so I can’t say for sure that Nazareth did anything insidious. However, the clock management was dreadful on the drive before the Montini go-ahead TD.

Naz got the ball at their own 40 with 3+ minutes to play. There was a pre-snap penalty, so now it’s 1st and 15.

Naz runs with little gain. Montini does NOT call timeout. (Frankly, MC is terrible at clock management also. They overthink moments like this). In the frenzy of the moment, everybody behind the MC bench is screaming time out. The refs stopped the clock. MC coaches explain that they did not call timeout. So the clock will start when the ball is ready for play.

When the refs blow the whistle, Naz snaps the ball immediately. They could’ve ran 25 seconds off the clock. Not only did they snap it way too fast, they passed the ball. Incomplete, and now it’s 3rd and 15.

Naz now takes timeout. In my opinion, this was a good time to go for it rather than just running the ball because MC has all their timeouts and will use one either way. Try for the first down and get yourself closer to the victory. So I don’t have a problem with them throwing here. But he threw an INT.

Montini ball, midfield-ish, with all 3 timeouts.

Easy for me to say in the last row of the bleachers, but run it with Calhoun three times and make MC burn all their timeouts… and if you manage to pick up the first down or Montini gives you a first down via penalty like they did versus Sandburg, the game is over. I felt like the game was over. But it’s not over until it’s over.

Izzy threw for 412 yards and scored 7 TDs (4 passing). He’s pretty incredible but the way he plays drives me crazy bc he spins around and extends the play in ways that cannot be replicated in college. I hope that he doesn’t develop bad habits repeatedly doing this. It leads to him taking some pretty awful sacks 10 yards deep. But his talent bails the team out so I can’t really criticize

If you go to Israel Abrams Instagram page. you can see the video of Montini's last two touchdowns with two minutes left in the game.

The poor clock management and not playing defense is the scary part.

Sure the kid is good but 400 yards isn’t because he’s going to Miami it’s because Naz isn’t old Naz they are looking more like OLD Naz and change sucks but we also have what a lot of schools would die for so it’s been a great ride and I’m not complaining.

Losing to IC? Fine whatever we had injuries.
Beating York? Big deal…They should have
Losing to MC?….until hell freezes over that one is expected.
Losing to Montini?….fully expected
Giving a win away with 2 score lead and 9 minutes left to play?….thats PSL Naz type of stuff….trust me I know from experience.

Why does IC get overlooked every year? Small enrollment? Class 3A?

They may be the 4th or 5th best team in the entire CCL and prove themselves every year.

In short, inconsistency. The last 3 years they've gone 7-2, 4-5, and 6-3.

Fourth or fifth seems like a stretch if you have MC, Loyola, and BR at the top. You're saying IC is right behind them?

In the Providence thread others are ranking IC about that high.
