Agreed to a 30 day window now to discuss. All big ten teams would have to play 10 games against Power 4 teams. Iowa already meets that criteria.
I don't like the 24 team proposal but I agree with you that 16 seems the right number. No guranteed spots and everyone should have to play the same number of games to win it.I’d prefer 16. However I’m not against 24 but I’m not in favor of sec or big 10 being guaranteed so many spots which was one of the early proposals. Do 24 then give to best 24. End of the day it’s all about $ so I expect them to go this route just like the decision to expand March madness which no one was asking for.
the people opposed to expanding to 24 teams are the same people that believe men went to the moon.
If you recall Kirk qualified that by saying "We've let the genie out of the bottle we just as well go to 24". The 24 team proposal came from the Big 10 commissioner when the NCAA first proposed that the SEC and Big 10 sort it out and come to a concensus in January.Kirk has said he is totally good going to 24 teams.
It should be 24. That's more in line with every other division of college football, including D III. But it should never expand beyond 24, at least not in any foreseeable future.Agreed to a 30 day window now to discuss. All big ten teams would have to play 10 games against Power 4 teams. Iowa already meets that criteria.
And, on this point, I agree with KF.Kirk has said he is totally good going to 24 teams.
