So good to see the come from ahead loss by OSU! The vaunted Matty Patricia sees his defense collapse! Wish I could see all their annoying fans after this one.

Sheesh. Just saw the Mississippi State/Minnehaha score.

It appears the Boat Rowing is going about as well as the Wood Chopping.

Does ryan day have a hot seat? They didn’t win the NATTY. o_O last year (while another b1g school team (😞) did), they’re just .500 now, and they choked in the 4th quarter last night.

🤔

Don’t get me wrong; I’d love to have OSU’s talent pool. However, going back to last season, they now have lost three out of their last four games, and their only win was against Ball State. They do play the formidable Kent State on Saturday, which was so bad in their first game at South Carolina that the fourth quarter had to be shortened.

Other than the Oregon loss, that was the most shocking score of the day to me. Overall, it was a fairly bad day in the Big 10.

Yeah that one surprised me as well.

I only watched bits and pieces of some B1G games, but to me it seems like some teams may be finding out that paying big money for a few individuals instead of spreading it out may not win as many games as they think. We’ll see if Campbell’s approach works out any better in the long run.

I understand what you’re saying. However, I hope that Campbell’s approach doesn’t copy Dabo’s approach, because we’ve seen that that also is equally disastrous. You have to combine both approaches (recruiting and portal) to be really be successful. However, I believe that if you have a successful program, the ratio should be 3/4 recruiting and 1/4 portal.

For an elite, established program like Texas or Ohio State that's probably true. I think most will be about 50/50.
And yes Dabo has the worst possible approach and doesn't see willing to adapt. Might be time for him to hang it up.

It’s a little different in that Dabo just refused to change with the times. We already know Campbell is willing to go out and get some good transfers and pay NIL but he’s just probably not going to pay a lot. He got guys like Riker and Taupaki who were well regarded but he wasn't willing to pay for someone like Chaz Coleman.

We’re just never getting a Bryce Underwood type player under Campbell so he needs to make up for it in other areas. For me, Campbell has answered almost every question except whether he can recruit well enough to compete with the big boys that have limitless money. We probably won’t know that for a couple years.

I’m confident that Campbell will be able to recruit very well at PSU. I say this because while at ISU, which is not a traditional power and also second fiddle in its own state, he was able to recruit a lot of players who currently are in the NFL, many of whom are key contributors. If he was able to do that at ISU, he should be able to surpass that at a brand name like PSU. However, it is important that he have a very successful season this year to show that the program is moving in the right direction.

Oregon was an insanely bad loss - first time in NCAA history that a Top 10 team has lost to a team on a 9+ game losing streak (and Okie State was on a 12 GAME LOSING STREAK and had lost 21 of their last 22 games!!!). The duhO$U loss was really bad as well given that it is the first time in polling history that a #1 team has surrendered a 20 point lead in the 4th QTR (and duhO$U didn't just blow the lead - their offense was blanked in the 2nd Half; they were leading 23-3 after the 1st Half. duhO$U scored 0 points and only had 129 yards of Total Offense in 2nd Half as Day does one of the worst coaching choke jobs of all time by crawling into his snail shell and trying to limp to a victory by running clock which ended up playing directly into Texas' hands. Day consistently underperforms his talent level - went 0-2 in the Post-Season after finishing the Regular Season as the #1 team last year. Day is not a great coach - he consistently underperforms relative to his player talent pool (a talent pool which is being paid massive sums of $$$ and has taken duhO$U Athletic Department into red figures as hard as that is to believe). If duhO$U didn't spend 3x to 4x as much as your average top 25 FBS team, Day would lose tons of games. duhO$U and Oregon are among the most over-rated teams going - the amount of success they have had relative to the massive sums they spend is pathetic honestly. They are the absolute worst in attempting to "buy success" and have destroyed "Collegiate Amateur Football" with their obscene and disgusting bs.

I’m glad you got that off your chest.
