When the board looks like this, even a bad gambler like myself can put together a 4 team bet your life on it parlay
Considering it's a boring week of games, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say all these games will be shut outs

That was my attempt at humor, based his moniker, lol. He wanted the board livened up!
So what part of old Lincoln County is the real question? Is it current Lincoln County? It could be the eastern part of Cleveland County or now present day Catawba and Gaston Counties.
Also, if you are ever near Tombstone, AZ save yourself some tine and don't go. It is a BIG tourist trap. People try to warn you, but people like me tend to have to see for themselves and all come back with the same realization that it is indeed a tourist trap.
If I were going to Tombstone, don’t think I’d go there for what it looks like now. I’d guess that a lot of what was there in 1881 has been replaced or renovated not leaving much of the original.
Think I’d go there for the feeling of being in the same place as where a historical event had occurred, much like going to a battlefield.

It’s funny that Wiki says Nicholas’s mother was born in Avery County in 1790. Yet Avery County was not formed until 1911, as North Carolina’s last county.View attachment 1440836

About Nicholas Earp, I wonder how accurate some of these records are, too. We had a county historian who would do really deep research, but he passed away a couple of years ago. Wish I would have thought to ask him about this, and other local events.

I am not doubting any of your research or claims. I am just finding it interesting that Wikipedia states his mother was born in Avery County, over 100+ years before that county was formed or existed. Goes to prove you cannot believe everything you read online…
I’m doubting my research. AI cited a couple of sources besides Wikipedia, but I don’t know how reliable it is.
If I remember correctly there is a small high school next door and I parked there and walked over. It is a pretty drive. Once, the silver industry collapsed it took everything with it. I cannot remember the details but a nearby town was either bigger than Denver or was the biggest city west of Denver at that time.
As for the site itself, they do reenactments throughout the day but the O.K. Corral area was walled off. I cannot remember if I had a drink at Big Nose Kate's Saloon or just walked in looked around and walked out.
That’s not welcomed around here.
Was in Phoenix at a conference about my work. Some of the people there drove down to Tombstone.. They said it took about two hours and it was about 70 miles from Tucson, which is now a huge city and home to the University of Arizona (you probably know that).
Wish I would’ve been like you and went more places. Well, since I still ain’t sure what you do, but I’m pretty sure who you work for, not sure I wanna go to all of them that you’ve been to, but definitely some…I appreciate your service and hope they’re good to you, you being from Lincolnton.
