Looks like we are in about the 70th or do percentile. Meanwhile Minnesota looks to be in the 20th percentile. Our ROI must improve if we are being sold on the idea that more money means more wins.

Something doesn't add up here.... Not buying these numbers. If we are actually wasting this much money on the roster we currently have, then Rhule needs to go.

Oregon got beat by a team with the budget of a local church pot luck so how do the analists explain that?
Played bingo at the Club last night with a friend and neighbor who is a Linfield College grad and big Duck supporter. Before he moved here and to his winter home in Arizona he had season tickets for the Duck games. He is pretty perplexed by the performance of team so far.

They pay big bucks for a roster, but they still have to have the desire to win. Seems a few of them are just happy to show up with nice gear on and then go to the party afterward.

We’re always picking on Buffett because he’s super rich, but there are other billionaire families in this state. What about
Hirschfield
Carson
Davis
Cabela
Werner
Lauritzen
Scott

Who am I missing?

Even using that, it's 50% more than two teams Nebraska isn't competing with.

I'd say the ROI is a bit lacking!🤣

Met a guy at a party about 10 years ago. I gave him a bunch of shite for his Mecheatin shirt. Turned out it was Chip Davis. He lives in Omaha but obvo not giving any cash to DONU

A billion dollar NIL donation from Buffett could change all of Nebraska athletics. He wouldn't even miss it.
What would change? We had the #1 qb in the nation and he was wasted to the point of having his body broken. I am sure you are familiar with the idea of throwing money at a problem. Lets spend more money on schools, or the inner city, or drug abuse and it will fix the problem. Not if the decision makers are incompetent. We need a complete change of the entire football ecosystem from the top down to the bottom...then when the system is efficient and competent, then load up on money.

"A couple things I can tell you as someone who contributed to this project:

— Complaints in the comments about lack of ROI are unfounded. Wait at least until this season plays out. The figures in this project are for 2026 rosters — and the rosters only. Not money that goes to any other part of the football budget. Not calculations for the 2026 calendar year or 26-27 fiscal year. Money paid to players in previous seasons is not factored here.

— Some previous estimates or claims that Nebraska is spending in the low-to-mid 20M range mathematically make little sense. It maxes out rev share (roughly $14M for football) and got $7.5M in new NIL money for this roster from Playfly. (The subject of a CSC battle.) So Nebraska is starting in the $22M range before its football players secure a single outside deal that doesn’t involve the school’s MMR partner."

I think Werner donated substantially but I could be wrong. When I win the lottery NU might get a few hundred. Not gonna give squat to a state supported school with the administrative bloat we have.

My dental hygienists mother-in-law is married to the guy who sold Cabela's. Maybe I can ask her how much he is donating. :)

Never going to beat UT, A&M, LSU and Texas Tech as huge oil money. Unless of course oil is found in NE. Strange though how ND State continues to get good athletes and wins and wins. Even winning now in the big leagues. Cannot image who wants to live in Fargo but obviously something going right. Plus quite a number of players in the NFL. May even be more than N.
