Aspirated 4 cylinder with gear ratios to provide instant speed for its size and horsepower, if you drive with two feet (carry over from stick shift driving) brake and accelerator at same time - then a lack of power that has been criticized and the software has not been fixed. The car will float and can put you in danger of approaching traffic.
My wife loves hers - new in July - good size but smallish in back end for many packages. Best would be all-wheel-drive with Pirelli tires. The computer for the driver and Apple system does not always pick up second driver and has too much info in front of you. The shift lever is on the column, same as KIA - absolutely terrible. The Germans think their system of driving is best and you cannot override what they give the Americans. MB and BMW would be better.
Depending on size needed, amount to spend and who will drive - look around for others.

Bask seat leg room is enormous (40+ inches) he’s speaking rear seats up boot space. He’ll be rocking racks and a Thule box for Mammoth
My wholesaler buddies, say you never know what S means in Audi. They slap that badge on anything..... I like the RSQ8 alot though. They had one in like a frog green during COVID I would have snapped up , but asking like 30 over MSRP killed that buzz.
S is real S-line is not real. I’m seriously thinking about adding an S8 after G baby 2. Moms already calls me Transporter Rick
Audi has problems up and down the line - stay away. The S7 and soon the S8 are underpowered for their size. And I am not saying the VW is wonderful - wife has the 'R' series.
Just get a new Billy Ripken card for your spokes and you’re good to go.

1 keeps his vehicles a long time. I’m buying his Sportwagen he bought new in 2019, it has 80k miles
Resale not really on the table
My only VW had issues, hence my lack of confidence. We tested a few over the years (including Tiguan and iD4) but they just didn’t come close to making the cut.
We’ve had: 67 buggy 88 Jetta 01 beetle manual 15 Sportwagen (1s grad gift) 17 GTI stage 1 manual (2s grad gift) 17 stage 3 TT (my daily for 7 years running around Boston with 400 hp now at 120k miles) 2002 eurovan (1s mammoth sled) and my soon new to me 19 6 sp 4motion wagen with 80k miles.

Had this little VW wagon back in late 80s maybe a golf not sure the model but we got 100,000’s miles out of it. Was a very convenient size. Drove to and from California. Palo Alto to Pittsburgh to reading to Atlanta no problem.
I wish I could push my wife's 21 Tiguan off a damn cliff. Problems with phone connections. Plastic oil pan blew off. Not very comfortable to drive long distances.
I had a VW Fox Wagon that was still running strong at 376K. No one locally would do rust work, especially on a unibody car. Had to junk it. Cried. Loved that car.
Yep that’s what it was a VW Fox wagon. Not a golf. We had a Thule storage box on top. Could put seat down throw in mattress make nice little sleeping nest in back. Pregnant wife basically snoozed her way across country from Palo Alto to Atlanta back there with all our stuff in roof rack storage box.
Super easy to work on, no modern electronics and best of all hand crank windows. That 1.8L would just run & run. It would go through snow better than some four-wheel drives.
I have no familiarity with VW’s new(ish) MQB Evo platform, but if it’s derived from the MQB A2 like my ‘18 Golf SportWagen, you’ll have a find vehicle for what is currently a bargain.
Recently applying a ceramic-coat to my GSW and could not help but notice how well it’s survived 8 WNY winters (not garaged) … interior looks and smells brand new, ride is tight and exponentially more refined/solid vs. my ‘22 Toyota Venza …. E888 gen3 1.8t has been flawless (I’m still on the original water pump , fingers crossed )…. VW’s (then) 6yr 72k warranty was nice as AC condenser and broken rear spring replacement were fully covered
not sure what we’ll do when replacement time comes as no good wagon options exist these days… former colleague just mentioned he’s replacing his company car with a Tiguan and claimed the price was too good to pass up

Weirdly, it's very similar to my 1974 De Tomaso Pantera in that it doesn't exist. Good luck!
