Trinity is 3A and in a league with Thomasville, W Davidson, Wheatmore, P Grove and E Davidson. I think S Central may be in the 3A/4A with Forbush, N Surry, M Airy, E Surry, W Stokes and others. The Greater Piedmont is all small 1A except schools with the exception of 2A Bishop and 2A S Stokes. It is a league of very distant teams put together with crazy travel lengths. C Central, SD, NS are all far from any other 1A schools so they put them all together covering Stokes, Forsyth, Davidson and Chatham Counties. N Stokes to C Central is close to 2 hours 91 miles. SD to NS is 70 miles and 1 1/2 hours. With gas charges in all counties on the rise it cost these schools between 10K and 20K a year just for bus miles.

Yeah, I used Trinity and SC as an example of the level of competition. Both would be closer distance than SD and CC.

I agree to all above, but is CC can get the ball moving it might be able to hold some ground in this comp. They are moving the right direction but with no middle school football its hard.

South Davidson wins the conference. Chatham Central and WS prep both look improved..Bishop looks to be down this year.

Sad part going to North Stokes with the roads lot of 35 and 45 mph max speed

Big Week coming in Bear creek. The bears are pushing for 4-0 but must beat the mustangs of North Moore. There could be large implications from this game.

Week Four Picks and Update- After three weeks of play the Greater Triad 1A/2A is a toss up of different records, success, struggling and in between. CC and SD are leading the way at 3-0 each. CC has a forfeit win and a solid win over E Columbus. SD has beaten an athletic BCLA team and two 3A teams so far. Based on the RPI, both are ranked in the top 5 in 1A. Defending league champion BM is off to an 0-3 start and struggling to get a win. Once they get into league action they may get some wins as a 2A team versus 1A teams. WSP/CPLA/SS/NS are teams on the verge of winning some games once league play starts. All have a good opportunity to get some wins this week. The conference could go 6-0 this week with a good effort.

S Davidson 3-0 vs. 1-2 3A E Davidson. East has lost to 4A Ledford and SW Randolph schools and whooped Bishop last week so the Wildcats have a solid 3A team to face after pulling out a late win last week over 3A Wheatmore. SD wins in hard fought game over their county rival.
C Central 3-0 and off to a great start this year. Has a good chance to go to 4-0 going into the league next week. They play a struggling N Moore team. CC goes to 4-0.
WS Prep 1-2 faces E Burke a struggling team. WSP is athletic and can make big plays. EB has played bigger schools in their 1-2 start. EB pulls out a close win.
S Stokes 1-2 faces 0-3 S Central. I will go with SS to even their record at 2-2 in this game.
CPLA is 0-2 and faces 0-3 Carver. Carver seems to be struggling and CPLA has been competitive at times. I will go with CPLA in another close game to improve to 1-2 heading into conference play.
Bishop is 0-3 and was blown out last week. BM seems to be a little young and is struggling a bit. They play 0-3 Trinity who is also losing pretty badly to teams. BM gets the Win in a close battle and goes into conference play 1-3. Trinity may not win a game if they lose this one.
N Stokes is 0-3 and was being talked up early in the year as a possible playoff team. They play 0-2 Patrick County. I have little knowledge of PC football so I will go with NS in a close game to improve to 1-3 heading into conference play.

SD vs. BM SD lost to E Davidson in over time and could be 4-0 instead of 3-1 if they convert two drives inside the 10 early in the game. BM is a bigger 2A school that got a win last week so they will be ready to battle the Wildcats and try to defend their conference title.

SS vs. NS SS 2-2 plays NS 0-4. I will go with SS to move to 3-2.
WSP vs. CC WSP 1-3 vs, highly ranked CC 4-0. WSP has played some close games and the 4-0 CC start and will be favored. CC wins

East beat Bishop bad. SD lost to East in OT 20-14 and had the ball inside the 10 twice and did not convert. Bishop is a bigger school with more players so who knows. Trinity is on the struggle bus right now but has several good players on the team.

Very good game. WSP- they are very athletic and play super hard, and their band is amazing. Might be the worst set of official's, the white hat had absolutely zero football knowledge.

SD JV 20-0 over Bishop. Would be nice if the other small 1A teams would find a way to form a small JV team. Seems like CC has like 20 on the sidelines but no JV team.

Yea they are starting to have more numbers, but zero middle school football. Hard to play jv and varsity with 28-32 kids. CC had 14-18 kids total last season. Have to be careful in 8 quarters and doing the correct paper work

Lots of teams struggling with Varsity numbers. In 1A a JV is becoming a rarity and those that can play 4-5 JV games a season will get better in the long run. They typically have to play up into 2A/3A/4A to get games.

Week 6 in the Greater Triad 1A/2A. No games this week that mean much in standings and competition.

SD- 3-2 overall with back to back losses in the last minute of the game against 3A E Davidson and 2A Bishop get a night off the rest and get ready for the last five weeks.
C Central- 5-0 takes on 0-5 N Stokes. There was a lot of talk out of Danbury about NS being a quality team this year. Not sure what is going on but it seems they are struggling. CC is on a roll and ranked high in 1A and they win this one!
Bishop 2-3 vs. WS Prep 1-4. Prep is very athletic and could win some conference games. With the win over SD in the last minute last week, Bishop likely rolls to the conference crown now and wins this one.
S Stokes 3-2 vs. CPLA 1-3. S Stokes gets their 4th win as they look to secure a winning season in the coming weeks. CPLA won big last week against a SC team not listed on Maxpreps, but has struggled most of the year. SS goes to 4-2!
