Looking at some hawk mistakes that need to be fixed; showing how ISU front 7 slashed and twisted to give Iowa problems running the ball; good discussion about Brown's very good throws and the few he missed; Cam needing work on his pass coverage; etc etc

correct me if I am wrong, but weren't they the same two who predicted a close dogfight with the Cyclones when we were sort of expecting to roll? sounds like they know their stuff.

They did. They both played D3 ball. They've made references to coaching but I haven't found where they coach. I'm assuming they volunteer at a local high school. I know they are both lawyers for their full time gig.

Prior to the game ,they were very complimentary of the ISU staff. This coach will be a thorn in Iowa's side as long as he stays there. He is running the same D and O that he had at WSU. With the use of the portal, a good coach can hit the road running.

I thought the same thing in real time regarding Buffington. He had 2 balls buzz right by him. He has the instincts and physical ability to cover those guys, but he's just got to turn his head so he can make that play.

Interesting to see their comments on the ISU staff. I really didn't know anything about them until now. Have watched alot of football over my nearly 70 years and they really impressed me in that game. I agree we will have our hands full with them.

Maybe we learned that you can replace 83 players and an entire coaching staff and still be a competitive football team. Just a note for those who fear the day Iowa will no longer be led by Mr. Ferentz, cuz that day will come, by retirement, firing, or death. It's inevitable--unless AI takes us all down first, of course.

You are correct, Indiana has shown us just that. Mr Ferentz retires or is gone, you make the right coaching hire, you spend twice as much money to buy a team.

Cignetti brought about 20 really good players with him, he got Howard iirc, then Mendoza, and now another top QB to come in the lead the offense and he and his coaches are very good. He turned IU around to new heights in an instant.

Of course you can portal 20 players a year and improve your squad a lot.

So you'll be ok with being just a competitive team when KF's gone, but while he's here, have a problem with the HOF career he's putting forth? SMH

Nobody is interested in being just competitive.

And I've got news for you. The next Iowa football coach won't do as well as KF did. Sorry. It sucks, I know
