The B1G's dreadful non-conference performance so far makes me think we'll get just 3 teams, and I think our best case scenerio is 10-2 which means we'll be considered against other 10-2 or 9-3 teams. We need to score 50+ against UNI and allow no more than 7.

I’m not ever worrying about the point spread vs uni. Just get wins. You have to get one of three OSU,um,uw. I think UW is the best shot.

You obviously can't struggle against UNI, but beyond that the score is pretty irrelevant. Need to go 11-1 to be in for sure. The bad B1G non-conference performance now means 10-2 probably only gets you in the discussion. If it comes down to a 10-2 Iowa vs a 10-2/9-3 SEC or 11-1/10-2 Big12 or ACC team Iowa might be on the outside looking in.

Yep. It’s hard to really know until the season plays out and you see how teams finish. Michigan has a win over Oklahoma. Which will help if Iowa can pull off that win.

I still think 10-2 gets them in the conversation but too many other variables to feel good about it.

I actually think this is a season where you may have 20 teams of good but not great trying to get a bid. It’s early but feels like there’s not a lot of great teams out there..

I'm looking at it in terms of quality opponents. If Iowa loses to both Michigan and Ohio State, or worse isn't all that competitive in one or both of those games, you have to look at who else on the schedule would constitute a high quality win. There are no ranked teams left on the schedule. Washington has looked bad so far so who knows where they end up. The B1G appears to have only 2 elite teams this year and one of them already has a loss. Maybe USC jumps in there.

Definitely. I’m hoping Illinois bounces back and that win is boosted if the Hawks pull it off. Maybe Nebraska sneaks into the rankings. It would also help if Iowa State somehow defies expectations and is really good.

Nebraska has one of the easiest noncon schedules. No G4 teams.
