Only if he is a team player. Don’t need to see one like McGowens or the kid from Boys Town
McGowens helped put NU on the map with recruits. He didn’t have much help but he showed recruits what was possible if you got on the floor for NU IMO.
Battie is being recruited to play the Derrick Walker role, running the offense through him at the high post. Walker actually ended up being one of the most important players in program history. He was the reason we landed Mast and now Battie.
Walker hopefully will be one of those guys Husker fans remember for decades.
Walker- selfless, smart team player. He was the start of the early forward trajectory
Lots of quality depth on this years team. If the culture is like last years team, return Sweet 16 trip is possible. Could be deepest team we’ve had since I’ve followed the Huskers-1970

I think it HAS to help. We'll find the money if recruits of this caliber want to be here. Kinda reminds me of Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper at Rutgers.
LSU finished in last place last season in basketball with just 3 wins. Im Guessing the Husker donors see a nice return on their NIL money and may pony up even more for Hudson. If Hudson decided he wants to play basketball we have a chance. If it’s football only he ends up a tiger. Root like hell that Lane does Lane things and self destructs in the hillbilly swampland of misfit toys.

His uncle is Tony Battie, former high 1st rd pick that put in 15 years in the NBA for Celtics, Magic, Cavs, and a couple other squads.
