MSU are 2-1 and by the looks of things they held their own against ND losing 27-10.
ND had 395 total offensive yards.

Huskers need run the ball better moving forward beside’s Rule 55 yard TD run NU only had 276 rushing yards.

And special teams need to be cleaned up, losing 80 yards on returns and bad punts.

Respectfully disagree that we need to run the ball better We had almost 300 yards rushing and over 500 yards of total offense, with the 2nd and 3rd string playing the majority of the 4th quarter. What more do you want from them?

Well, we’re gonna find out really fast how legit this team is. We look legit imo. Hopefully the refs don’t give Sparty and late game home team gifts…

Beware Lavar Woods. Scheme and coaching with Special Teams could be the difference in a road game. Need a A+++ with both KO and punt coverage units.

This is exactly the game we need as this is the exact type of coach that we have struggled with since BO was axed. Tough physical lines, good defense, minimal mistakes. They will just pound it at us all day long until we can we can stop it. Think Iowa, Minnesota, Fitz Northwestern teams, Illinois, pre-Fickel Wisconsin, Utah, etc etc. We have to show we can be just as physical, execute our game plan well and not shoot ourselves in the foot again and again. Until we can win these types of games, we will never get anywhere. -Captain Obvious

I want consistency from the starters, which we have not had in any game yet. You play a team like Bowling Green and essentially give them the third quarter. Yesterday it was the 2nd quarter. Against Ohio it was most of the first half.
We need a punter.
We need to stop holding penalties on punts.
We need an OC who is better at fast counterpunches to defensive wrinkles. It took Holgerson an entire quarter to scheme around basic edge pressure yesterday.
MSU is a decent team. We had better bring our A game

Archie Wilson is so inconsistent wether that has to do with he can kick with either foot i‘m not sure but one foot ha to he better than the other as fr as distance.

Bad special teams and no running game in a close game on the road, normally means defeat. I also don't like some of the cultural aspects of this team. Colandrea continually yelling at the OC, wrs leaving huddle early. None of this stuff matters if you have all-Americans or against overwhelmed opponents but when talent is equal and adversity happens where is the leadership going to come from? We know clearly that Rhule doesn't foster leadership and just kind of lets it happen or not. And it just doesn't happen. Looks like a team that will play well until the wheels come off the first time...hopefully it doesn't happen until Indiana.

I like Colandrea fire we need a more players like this. He yells more at his teammates more than yelling at Holgersen.

Rhule was hot toward him at the beginning of the game when they exchanged verbiage towards one another to get out of bounds and don’t take unnecessary hit.

Both Rhule and Colandrea confirmed that this exchange was a positive one - in the lines of “this is who want to be”. I didn’t see the exchange built both commented on it in post game interviews.

What gives me pause about the team is that this game reminded me a lot of the UNI game in 2024. An FCS team with a pulse who isn’t afraid to punch back. There were multiple times where we were not the more physical at the LOS. But with superior talent at the skill positions it was enough to get the job done. That won’t be the case starting this coming Saturday.

None of what you hear, half of what you see. What they say doesn't matter. Last year we saw the team get blown out by two interim coaches and Iowa in three straight games because of "culture", guys basically giving up. Colandrea is beating up on teams with 5-10% of the resources of Nebraska and prancing around like he won a national title when he throws a td against an FCS team. He is also asking the coaches to go for it on 4th and 4 from his own 30, and yelling at coaches when they don't go for it on 4th and 2 on the husker side of the field. We have WRs leaving the huddle early on run plays, complaining about touches, a starting running back who beat his pregnant girlfriend, with no consequences who is known to be an idiot and a hot head , and a qb who yells at the coaches in front of the stadium when things are going well...what will happen when it is 21-0 and we are losing? Not much can be done but will be interesting if they can weather some bad stretches in winnable games.

NU averages 263 ypg, good for 12th in the country.

I think some of what we’re perceiving to be a lack of leg strength is maybe our coordinator trying to limit returns. Oh for an Erstad back there.

I just don't understand the snake-fascination with Wilson. Especially with Koch sitting the bench. In almost every game the opposing punter is better than Wilson, including yesterday. The ND punter had nice hang time even into the wind that caused Barney to almost get killed a couple times, His one not so good punt was the one that was returned but called back for a hold. Wilson can be counted on to shank a punt at the worst possible time.

Not even close to a good comparison. First of all This ND team is way better . Niowa had well over 300 yds and had the ball for 38 minutes and matched up in first downs .ND had 1-2 sustained drives all night and only scoring drive was dead but an official bailed them out with a horrible call . ND had 200 yds half the first downs .

Yeah, tough to see the Huskers covering on the road in Big 10 play. 5 1/2 is a little steep. Supposedly 5 and 5 1/2 is a "dead number" where Vegas just allows the market to take the spread where it wants to. 3 1/2 or 4? 6 or 7? Vegas just takes the money and roots for the other side.

I want to be entertained. You guys are just so horny for Colandrea to be better than Dylan that you ignore the fact he looks like a sissy prancing around the field and yelling at everybody. Lets be honest. Playing three games that we paid to win, basically glorified scrimmages wasn't very entertaining. Just looking for something to ***** about to keep my squirrel brain occupied. I do think it is the responsibility of the 400 million dollar program to put an entertaining product on the field. The football is pretty meh. I have always fully expected us to go 5-0 and my curiosity rests in our ability to win 2 or 3 games after that. I don't think we have to leadership to do it.
