ISU / Chris Perry Recruiting Violations

I mentioned some news would be coming out of Iowa st soon and it wouldn't be good. The NCAA was asking questions not long after the Northern Colorado transfers went to Iowa st. It's been an ongoing investigation for awhile.

The ban on the first week of the portal window is brutal.
Only punishment that really hits.
And they won't be able to backdoor it in any way.
Perry having a 2 year no contact with athletes, coaches and administrators so he can't attend practices or recruit that's gonna hurt

I initially only saw the ISU violation headline and immediately suspected it involved Perry. Not gonna pretend other big programs aren’t also doing it, but I’m fairly sure they don’t have coaches on staff doing it. What a dummy.
He was on staff at Oklahoma st when Hamiti left KC and went directly to Stillwater before he entered the portal. Iowa st thought since he wasn't on staff he could call rostered athletes. The issue is the club pays him and he's at every practice and travels with the team and recruits . So the NCAA labeled him a booster so they could punish him since he's not technically on staff. Iowa st thought they found a loophole and the NCAA said we aren't doing that. I don't think it changes anything for any of the boosters at universities it was just what they had to call Perry to punish him and Iowa st
You have to be so so bad at this stuff to get caught and punished for tampering in the year 2026. Every school in every sport is doing this.
How did Perry/Iowa State end up being the ones busted for this? Was it just carelessness or did somebody in Ames piss off somebody at the NCAA to get special attention?
It's because he's a coach that they thought by having his title RTC he could go rogue. No one else is doing what Iowa St was doing. They took it to another level and the NCAA didn't like that level
