I think Sofia should stay in the midfield, as she’s continued to steadily improve with each game. We will need that experience desperately for next year..

Ferri may play defending center mid, but Mendez will play the other center mid position. But I like Ferri's speed on the left side in this new lineup.

I firmly believe this team is back to contender contention, though we have to start winning immediately to get that shot. I also believe this team will be better than next year's team. So given that, play to win now, not build for the future.

In FH underclassmen are used to sitting as the development on the high school and club level simply does not match the speed and skills D1 FH. They are basically learning to play true FH once they reach either the national team or college.

Ferri is good enough to start certainly, and she should, but she is not the leader of this team in the center in an ideal world.

I mean these are three All Americans walking back on to the field for us. I’m so excited to see how Sofia plays with them.

I am elated to have all of them back, specifically Dani. Having her for one season was such a tease.

Remember now these three have been working outs and practicing with the team since day one. They just could not play in the games yet. That was smart of them to work out and practice with the current players on the team. I do not see any problems with connectivity, rhythm, etc.

‘The NCAA respectfully requests that the Court stay the preliminary injunction pending appeal and rule on this emergency motion within 24 hours.’

We should hear on the ‘emergency motion’ soon, correct? From what I understand (which I could be very wrong) is that the same judge will rule on the ‘stay’. So hopefully she sides with the athletes again. If she does not, and grants the NCAA their ‘stay’ it will rule all the athletes ineligible again…

I’m doing my best here 😂 Definitely not a lawyer.

The appeal would go to a higher appellate court I assume. NCAA won their first 5 emergency stays to TPO appeals, but has lost some

It is worth remembering that the lead plaintiffs in this case are football players whom play PF Saturdays, so Friday decisions are certainly possible. Imagine if one came during a FH game.

I actually understood and agreed with the 2022 class reasoning by the NCAA back in June/July: there was serious risk of schools dropping signed incoming freshmen.

But now that the school year has started, the argument is moot. The roster s cannot be reasonably cut right now to make room for 2022 players unless that roster space already exists. These appeals fighting TPOs make no sense to me.

And it seems like plaintiffs lawyers could easily show that all plaintiffs in their class have space on their respective rosters and will not affect freshmen (I certainly hope they made sure every plaintiff they signed to their class had roster space at their school)

Pretty sure I spied both Heck and Bruning in yesterday's practice clip in Palo Alto, though hard to tell when not wearing numbers

Following recent rulings, Sietske Brüning, Ryleigh Heck and Dani Mendez have been ruled eligible and will play in tonight’s contest against Stanford. The situation is continually evolving so the UNC administration and our program wanted to be certain we’d done all of our due diligence before announcing this publicly from us. We will continue to follow this unprecedented situation as things unfold, but as of this moment the three have granted eligibility and will put on the Tar Heel uniform once again.
