"AMES — Tamin Lipsey has entered his name in a lawsuit in an Indiana court for additional eligibility, according to Sports Illustrated writer Kevin Sweeney.
The Ames native would be a huge addition to an Iowa State backcourt that lost Killyan Toure in August to a shoulder injury, who will be sidelined until January.
The former Cyclone point guard joins around 90 other athletes in the Monroe County Circuit to suit up for a college basketball roster in 2026.
This past summer, the NCAA adopted a rule that grants five years of eligibility to all college athletes who will start in the fall. Lipsey and around 450 other athletes are suing, claiming they are being unfairly denied a fifth season.
The plaintiffs and the NCAA have until Thursday to submit all documentation and any additional filings before a decision is made."
