I would concentrate on building out west side suites. Versus building field level suites. Very little options for on field suite locations. Very little room on the student section side of field. And no easy entey point on the north end of stadium.
Still can’t figure out why during the stadium expansion they didn’t recenter the field. Way too much wasted space in the north endzone. Space that could now make it easier for projects like on field suites and greater room for expansion opportunities.

That's been on hold for over a decade. After the club seats, the next phase of the expansion was to rebuild the press box and build out luxury suites. Those would be a cash cow but, again, ya gotta get the money to build it out.
That was part of the expansion plan in 2008-2009 - they were suppose to regrade the North Endzone like how the South Endzone is, which would have provided another 2K seats. However when the planned budget was cut from $132 mill to $100 mil due to the mortgage crisis, that part of the expansion was cut out.
Yea remember the explanation. And said real time to brothers ( architects) one worked on the first stadium expansion. How ridiculous not centering the field. Both said could have recentered the field without regrading the north endzone. But true to “Rutgers” fashion. Went the cheap route versus the prudent route.
I would think building out field suites would be exponentially more expensive than building out west side suites. The framework and rough is already present. Starting from scratch with field level suites. I’ve sat in field level suites. Would rather be in a true luxury box. Site lines from field and overall experience sucks.
I don’t know why someone would pay big money for a suite with a horrible view of what’s happening on the field.
it would only be kind of cool when the team is on the red zone on that side of the field. I also think it’s a lot different at an Ohio State when you’re surrounded by an insane atmosphere vs Rutgers, lol
The giant space in front of the north endzone is a great spot for these. Ohio State and UCLA just did something similar. Eventually, would expect these to be baked into the stadium, but for now temporary structure with some tarp behind is what I imagine. Using AI:

The money is in the sideline suites not this novelty act.

It’s a good idea. The north end zone is perfect for it and has lots of space for it. I’d imagine it’s significantly cheaper than building something up somewhere else. The view definitely sucks but most people in those aren’t as engaged in the game as regular fans. It’s more about hosting. And it will draw more non-fans and corporate events to expose more people to RU which is good for the brand.
why would anyone pay big money to watch the game from there? Horrible sight lines that low. if you were going to do endzone boxes, put them at the top of the north endzone with a VIP entrance from the street.

There was a rendering a while back that showed this on top of the roof. Looked like mostly outside seating too.
I thought those were under the scoreboard?
Guess it depends on what network is doing the game.
Been on platforms in both endzones for years. Kelli sold the naming rights to them this year. They have valley bank branding on them this year.

Elevate the Suites slightly in the North end zone. Will lose a few front rows of seats in those sections…more than offset by the Game Day Dollar$$$ from the Suites.
There are such luxury suites in every single NFL stadium built in the last 10 years and many big time college stadiums now as well. People will buy them for the clout!
And can we hten flip the TV cameras to the east stands so Schiano (or a head coach with teh sense to wear a hat or visor) can stand in the shade with his teams for hot day games and not have to squint and hold his hand over his eyes because he refuses to wear a hat? How about someone invent note cards that function as a visor as well? How many things has he missed seeing because there was too much glare from sun or lights?
