Call NW anything you want but know that getting out of there with a win next week will be anything but easy

NW wearing Indiana out with passing to their TE, transfer from a D2 school. The TE was leading receiver in D2 last year. Running free open routes against Indiana defense. NW will be a tough game, especially with short week to prepare and them opening their new stadium next Friday evening.
Alas, they went for 2 and couldn't convert (2X, as there was a defensive penalty the 1st attempt)

Indiana clearly not what they were last year. Mendoza a huge loss. Hoover a few steps down.
Indiana likely wins at this point but NW will be a very tough game for us.
Agree but we don't have Jim "overrated" Knowles on the sidelines or press box looking clueless.
I think our schedule just got harder, after last night.
Northwestern was never going to be an easy win this year. I still don't have a ton of faith in Chiles but Kelly did a nice job calling plays in the second half yesterday. Not having Howard is what worries me the most--Northwestern's biggest weakness are their CBs.
Agreed. It will be a challenge. However, If close losses were wins, PSU 2025 would have been in the playoffs. Here's the key, Indiana's 3rd string tailback rushed for 200 yards. This after #2 went out with an injury already (1first quarter) with 9 carries for 68. #1 Khobie Martin is currently injured as well.
PSU needs to lean on its running game to win.
The coaching staff is going to earn their money over the next several games. I was already worried about that game before the season started considering it’s a short week and first game in their new stadium. After beating Colorado and taking Indiana to the brink, I think it’s safe to say they’re pretty good. That is going to be a very tough game for us.
Now now. James Franklin’s number one fan had NW on the road as an easy W. This notion anymore that you can look at a schedule in the NIL/PORTAL era and think you know what a team has is pretty much over.
3 (Wisconsin, NW, and UM) of our next 4 opponents have dual threat quarterbacks. If I am Lynn, Rojas is my spy for those games.
Being able to run the ball will be important. NW could not stop the Indiana running game.
I know we've had our disagreements, but on this topic I agree 100%. It's absurd for anyone to draw conclusions about the strength of our Conference Schedule before anyone has played a Conference Game - this is especially true in today's Absolute and Unlimited Free Agency marketplace (people acting like this is traditional CFB is laughable - this is not CFB or amateur sport in any regard. CFP is a Professional Sport at this point with zero guardrails regarding Free Agency). Impossible to say how good any of these teams are at this point - Indiana has proved that in this era of Professional CFB the last 2 years. Nobody has a clue how good USC and UCLA are, but they probably have quite a bit of talent given their locations, profiles and talent acquisition budgets.
Absurd to be yammering about PSU's Conference SOS at this point of season.
The same urge that you get when you walk past a picture of James Franklin.
From watching last night, Chiles is either God awful or really good. Nothing in between.
They have what looks like a very good TE and WR.
NW is a dirty team late hits, leg twists...maybe ask Drew about that.
Their defense can be had in both run and pass.
Tennessee, where red necks turn orange in the Fall.
They very well could be but I wouldn't use CO as any kind of benchmark other than they stink.
Don't know if anyone noticed but our last 2 Coaches are facing each other right now on the ACCN.
Well, they are a P4 team and NW beat them 41 - 7. Regardless, the point remains that this will be a tough away game versus a good opponent.
It will be a tough game most, B1G games are. But my point also remains. CO sucks.
