Cignetti is coming down to earth and is appearing to be a mere mortal after all. He was a pathetic whining cry baby in the presser last night after the game. Blamed the refs for Indiana’s slow start. Actually claimed that they had been “Pearl Harbored” by the refs early on.

I was so hoping he would get his ego crushed at home last night. Hoover isn’t Mendoza.

I was too. Hoover is clearly not as good. Part of me is glad the won though. I would love it if we are the team that hands them their first loss of the season season.

They looked mortal. Chiles’ mobility gave them fits. NW’s defense gave up too many chunk run plays. I have no idea if NW is better this year or not. It’s why you play all the games.

Cig mentioned in post game that he felt NW was a really good team. He doesn’t throw crap like that around.

Chiles had a really hard time holding on to the ball, especially up until NW woke up with their first points mid 3Q. He fumbled their very first offensive snap that resulted in a Indiana safety. He was channeling his inner Jeff Sims for the first half of the game.

I never felt the game was really ever in NWs favor. Indiana controlled the line of scrimmage and were wearing them down as the game went on. NW wasn't going to get a stop and was down multiple scores for much of the 2nd half. I think this is the "danger" of considering one score games as toss-ups. Indiana was in control, they played to win the game not win by 3 scores. They were up 9 with 2 minutes to go and went prevent to run the clock which allowed NW to move the ball, knowing they would get the ball back. Indiana still has an elite oline...they are boring, aren't as explosive but the big 10 is down this year so I expect them to win it again.

They are a really solid well coached team. If they ever get their talent level up another notch or two they will be a problem.

Indian looked "ok" but not national championship good. Not even top 10 good tbh. If they are top 5 Northwestern is top 15 or better.

Outside of Ohio state I think they will be favored in every game by at least one score. Big 10 is really bad this year. The playoffs will be a different story though.

Nah, I meant Iowa. Indiana led for all but one drive against Penn St and walked down the field for a TD when they needed it.

Iowa took them down to the wire which to me is much more shocking than a roster full of 5* talent like Penn State being able to keep up

After watching OSU you could be right. BIG definitely not as good as it was last few years. I think I'd still take the field over Indiana tho.

I think he tried to hire him 2 times actually once before NDSU maybe Northern Iowa . But those would have been lateral moves. Braun had a plan and seamed to stick with it. It would be interesting to see what the buyout is . I know he was just extendied but if a coach wants to move it’s usually considerably lower .
