The guy took off and ran away- he and his buddy were gone from their seats and never returned for the second half. He was all talk until it was him and me on that ramp no crowd no one knew what our beef was. I was speaking in a low monotone so security would stay out of it. Outside the stadium was deserted thats where we were headed and we could both see the area was empty, He had no chance and he knew it. Me putting an idiot fan in his place who was impacting a disabled person is in no way similar to the thugs who hang out after hours in the square in Iowa city- cowardly looking to gang jump easy marks. When I lived in Des Moines and covered the whole state for 17 years I liked Iowa city- the Airliner etc but the violence and shootingz down there in the square now are just comical to me. yeah let’s turn little old Iowa city into Chicago lol. Yeah that’s a good brag. You do not have any dangerous places at all in Lincoln where you can’t walk around safely at night. But somehow Iowa city wants to be little Chicago lol, gang jump beat downs, shootings - really super weird deal

Standing for 95 percent of the game even when there was zero action after being asked nicely to sit was him being a jerk.i didnt tell him I asked very politely twice, letting him know in whispers my friend was disabled and couldn’t stand. His buddy sat. been going to games since 1970- my seats- never had an issue until this guy wanted to play tough guy. We like our seats.
When I called him on it he ran away like the whimp he was. I’m guessing one of those keyboard bullies who isnt used to anyone calling their bluff. He had his chance to be the guy with no one around and he chose to be who he was a coward. Iowa fans are the worst - right up there with Colorado fans. I’ve seen em all. We were treated very well there and here - no issues . Iowa and Colorado fans are easily and consistently the worst- Longhorn fans are in an entirely different galaxy, Arkansas (my A&M days) fans are so bad you just have to laugh , feel bad for them. Had a great time with Mississippi state fans at Sun Bowl, . K state is hit and miss but I love their stadium and short drive. lllinois fans were great in Champaign, Michigan fans don’t really care but I really dislike Ann Arbor, Houston had no fans. Miami fans are bad and violent at their place in old orange bowl ghetto. , love trice field but ISU fans can be a little feisty- damage cars.
Bama fans were fine in Birmingham- ghetto stadium though. Washington people were ok but pretty surely/ they hated us and hated losing in 97, beautiful spot. Baylor/tcu/smu no issues. Oklahoma state fans were a little surely they had some good teams but we always won- they were frustrated. Northwestern fine. Havent got up to Madison- would have to bring bail money lol .t / tech is awful too. Never been but heard awful stuff- same for LSU. Florida and Tennessee fans were loud and extremely enthusiastic before the game- no issues. After the game both groups of fans were very cool to us.Ou fans were always fine- good natured ribbing- nothing bad. Mutual respect

Look at the recruiting and portal rankings. Huskers definitely have gotten better players . Huskers spend 10 million more on players every year you guys are at 18-20 million and Huskers are at 30-33 million. Thats fifty percent more than Iowa. Sure you’re developing better but as to raw talent coming in Huskers are much better.
In that case, you're hemmoraging money for poor results.

Understood, it’s an open invitation to come to Lincoln anytime and take a tour of our facility . You can actually touch 3 real Heisman trophy’s and take a selfie with 1 of 5 national championship trophies. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to get that close to real success. Thanks for letting me know we have sucked in football the last 15 years of so I hadn’t realized we have become so bad that Iowa is now ahead of us as a program. Maybe one day we can dare dream of a 8-4 season and music city bowl title.
bragging about a national title in 90s in 2026 is like a Minnesota and Mississippi fan bragging in the 90s that they won a championship in the 60s...pathetic. That’s if you agree with high school and portal rankings. I would take Iowa’s raw talent, particularly at the running back, tight end, linebacker, and o-line positions, all day over Nebraskas.

HS and Portal rankings are a crapshoot and still someone’s opinion. You can have a 4 star and that kids offer sheet is sub par . And you can have 3 star and his offer sheet includes OSU Bama and others. I will trust a coaches judgment on a kid over some dipshit that probably never played the sport.
