Never said how good he was as offensive coordinator just that he had that roll at one time.

You and your girl friend suffocation need to get room together since either one of you know very little history about Nebraska football beside the past 15 years.

I’m sure it’s going to be a very frustrating game to watch. It gives me hope seeing Indiana, Oregon, and Washington not looking as good as last year. But none of that matters if we lose badly to MSU. It will just show that Rhule can only win at home against cupcakes.

having Matt as a more CEO role makes perfect sense. It means the coordinators lead their respective parts of the team.

Rule can still deliver good overall team speeches and what not, I just don't want him tinkering with anything during game days. I'd be fine if they locked him up in a utility closet during game day. He's a liability.

But we're going to have a good season IN SPITE of Rhule's inadequacies

That's what I think anyway. As a figurehead, he's fine. Stay out of the actual coaching.

Agreed, but the problem I see in close games is Matt the Hat still has his hand on the wheel when it comes to time-outs. He has terrible clock management skills. I think that could bite the Huskers in the butt in a close game. He needs to delegate the duty to Dana on offense and Rob on defense. This will free him up to collect his thoughts on what to say in the important ten second interview with the TV network's sideline reporter.

I know it is a new season, new quarterback and all but in Rhule's FOUR Big Ten road wins the average score has been 27.5-17-25. The Maryland game was the only game the Huskers scored in the thirties. I think 38 points is too much but we shall see. (Illinois 20-7, Purdue 28-10, Maryland 34-31 and UCLA 28-21)

I hate it when the O goes into zombie mode which we saw in the first 3 games. Big 10 play is different. They go conservative and next thing you see is that they can't find a sustainable game plan. Throw in a few mistakes and the coaches panic.

My thoughts are past 3 years are not relevant.

Rhule leans on Coordinators for most game day stuff. Satterfield and Butler were terrible hires the put program at huge disadvantage over other well coached Big teams when they were in charge

On top of that, Riaolas set program back two years. The cost of getting an overrated statue QB was to employee worst oline coach in FCS football for three season and both addressed in spades

Rhule gets all blame for terrible staff decisions but it appears we are in much better shape now and team has some real talent.

Summary

COLANDRA >>> DR
Aurich >>>>>> Butler
Jeepe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Donnie

We are seeing results already with Colandra putting up vastly superior PFF numbers to Dillon when playing similar bad teams

Rhule 10 YPT being 2 greater than EJ vs similar bad teams.

Defensively moved out of 3 man front in four man front. Good corners and LB. Jury still out on Aurich at Big level but vastly superior to Butler, without question.

My opinion is Aurich/Holgerson will dictate outcome. They are as good or better as combo than MSU staff, have better talent and much better QB.

If we lose this game to first year coach, I expect no better than 6-6, Rhules last year and recruiting class implode.

Really a lot on the line for staff and program over next couple years and expect Coordinators to coach like it.

Never compare TO pre-1994 to Matt Rhule. There is no comparison. Matt Rhule is 10-17 in conference. T.O was 120-25. STHU

I think being bad at a job for many years is worse than never having done that job. It should have been a clear warning sign not to hire him. He had no idea what to do on the offensive side of the ball, and it was the side he actually coached. People assumed he was a "defensive" coach, and he said so himself, but he hasn't coached the defense. It explains a alot in retrospect. Being bottom 3rd in the NCAA in offense as an OC for multiple years and getting promoted to head coach is a crazy turn of events. Provides support for my theory that a lot of millionaire coaches have no ******* clue what they are doing.

You probably weren’t even born yet to know that pre-internet some Husker ‘fans’ wanted TO gone in the late 80s / early 90s (yes…seriously!). That was the reference if you bothered to try and keep up.

There is nothing some idiot you can tell me that I don’t already know about Husker Football. So GTFO with this nonsense!

Don’t have a good feeling about this one, if the game is in Lincoln we win but basically a night game in east Lansing doesn’t bode well for us. My guess is state 21 NU 17. Btw the kicking game isn’t that bad. The field goal kicker doesn’t have the leg to hit 50 plus yards. Archie is what you get, eck should have taken him with him to sc and eck isn’t the best his special talent gave up a fake punt against Rutgers so don’t crown him the greatest. I do think there were better coaches out there to hire for st but Rhule would rather give the money to his non coaching friends that are still on staff but just blood suckersf

The Hat nearly screwed up that last second TD in the first half today. Rhule worries to much about leaving time on the clock for the other team to score.
