Since Becht is supposedly a seasoned 5th year player, he should not have a lot of things to work on. That's what worries me about Becht. I think he was totally unprepared for the speed and size of Big 10 defenders.

I agree with that. Let’s see if this staff can start learning to scheme things a little differently to try and fare better in these Big Ten contests.

In a way, I’m now looking forward to watching this team more than I enjoyed watching the last few years of the Franklin era where we basically knew what we were going to get… in the biggest games, we kept daring to hope for a good outcome even when we knew in the back of our minds that we were likely going to be disappointed. (I say this as someone who was a Franklin supporter.) And we basically took the wins against the Wisconsins of the world for granted.

Rooting for a new staff and a lot of new players to try and adapt to a different environment… to me, at least this is something new and different and thus more interesting. I’m willing to give Campbell a lot of grace because I really love his mindset and approach and intent in a lot of ways.

I wish more of our fans could look at things this way instead of being ready to burn things to the ground after one loss. What a messed up way to think.

If they lose Friday evening at NW and the QB play is the same, then its time to run Manske out there to see what he can do to determine portal QB needs.

Yep. A 5th year QB and 10,000 career passing yards and he has a lot to work on? Buddy, if you haven’t gotten it by now, there’s no magical switch that’s going to flip.

how do teams that have down seasons ever get recruits?
It's actually almost better if we lose games because then there's obvious playing time available.

6-6. Wins over Purdue and Maryland and Rutgers. Washington is a pickem game.

I think the first time we were asked how we thought that this year would go I said 5-6, because Matt had no idea the legacy and expectation of the fans would be. Beaver Stadium and the BiG is a big difference from the 12 team league he grew up in. Moving on up to the big leagues is not that easy. We'll see how Cig transitions this year. Getting here is one thing; staying is quite another.

There isn't a game on the schedule that's an automatic loss--Northwestern is probably the closest to that just because it being a short week without Howard
Might not be a guaranteed win (Maryland/Rutgers probably) but people are way too negative over one game (really one game by the offense and a quarter by the defense)

People need to relax. No matter what Campbell does he has 4 years min. Kraft isn't going anywhere either (though I think PSU can do better than him)
