They practice the 5 wide receiver spread formation a lot and the QB gets to look at the defense and pick his best matchups. Instead of trying that late FG on 4th and 6 maybe this formation has a pretty high success rate. I know, passes get batted down or a receiver might drop it but there are mistakes all the time.
I hope the coaches use this more often all game to shake things up. Use it on any down and anytime.
