I personally don’t think the USC hit was as dirty as they are making it out. Moore had a very late slide, the guy didn’t go head first, and the resulting contact was bad. Just my opinion. The nonsense after is what triggered stronger reactions ino

Dirty hit, made worse by how he acted afterwards. You know in this day and age that is going to be called, you just can't go headhunting QB's now.. glad it was called and i'm glad USC suspended him and used the language they did on their statement..

Other than the celebration I don't have a problem with it. Slide late and this can happen. Get ur *** down sooner...

Even though that language was total bullsh*t. If his actions did not represent the culture of the entire USC program, then why did it go on so long with nobody talking him down. Not one player or coach. In fact several other players were joining in his celebration long after it was very clear Moore was seriously injured. USC is a scum program.
I seen qb's take advantage of the unspoken rule of running out of bounds lately too, where they stop, the db flys out of bounds and they gain 5 more yards...

Why can't they penalize fake slides? That would solve most issues. Make it a personal foul, loss of down, 15 yards from spot of infraction.
It was dirty. He anticipated the slide. When you launch yourself downward at a QB like that, you know he is sliding.
He wasn't trying to make a tackle. He was trying to get a late hit in on a guy he knew would slide.
We won't agree on this topic. It's up to the QB to get down earlier imo. That extra yard is not worth what he got.

Or defenders need to be in position and not give up a 15 yard run to the qb. Taking the head off of a qb because somebody missed an assignment is trash. Violence inherently favors the defense because they don't have to carry a ball or worry about getting to the end zone and the play ends up being a gang of defenders on one ball carrier. Let the offense hold the defense back or hit in the back or helmet to helmet themselves and then we can allow illegal hits. There have to be some protections in place once the ball carrier passes the line of scrimmage because offensive blockers can't stop defenders once they move out the front 30% of their body.
The issue is how do you determine what a fk slide is ? Is it a fk slide or just a juke ? You and I both know it’s a crapshoot because every official interpretation is going to be different.when was the last game you saw. A fk slide called ?
They do penalize fake slides. That rule came about after a Pitt qb fake slid then went for a TD a few years ago.
