Really excited about this because he gets a fresh start with someone that knows how to use him if he has talked to his brother. I’m assuming he eventually starts over Jameis Winston in a week or two and has a shot to lead a very decent team to the playoffs. If he does that his entire career trajectory changes once again and he can be traded somewhere as a starter. This is the last real chance for him and he needs to make the most of it. Having said that it is worrying that Minnesota thinks he is that bad that they took a 5th round draft pick in exchange.

If he starts, he's going to need to hit the ground running. Can't see the New York media putting up with "NINE" struggling.
I doubt hes coming in to be a starter. I think they will ride with Winston unless he is just awful. I cant see NYG just volunteering to be a showcase stop for JJ.

I love it when ppl say I stopped following the nfl, then immediately go on into a analytical breakdown of roster management and qb evaluations. 😆

I'm not much for following the NFL, basically I'll follow local talent (LB3, JJ, etc.) that's it. And mostly just highlights after the games are played.

I am getting the same way about College Football with NIL and the Transfer Portal. Last year I rooted for Notre Dame and Indiana. This year I really want to root for Arch Manning as an individual, but I can't stomach rooting for Texas. I guess it's back to following Notre Dame and Indiana. :ROFLMAO:

I'm always keeping up with the non-contact injuries of these entitled athletes... I read the injury report then look up how many millions have been wasted on players unable to play!~~~

Well let's see if you young guys remember the Cardinals wanting Murray to study the playbook 5 hours a day because he was too stupid to pick it up but the Players Union filed a grievance over it. Yep... Big waste of $$$$ for an incompetent QB. The NFL could stop playing tomorrow and it wouldnt upset me a bit... But for you it would be the end of the earth. I only keep up with player injuries and the loss of $$$. Everyone need kicks in life...

I’m sure you are…..
Read the injury report and pick and choose which ones are dumb and entitled according to your criteria….we all see it.

I had a phase of not watching the nfl all that closely for a few years except the odd bears game, but I have to say that after tuning back in the last few seasons the product is really great. The games go by much faster than they used to and there is a lot of innovative play calling.

On the other hand I have started paying less attention to college ball even though that used to be my favorite because the roster churn from the transfer portal has made me less invested. NFL seems to actually retain some level of sportsmanship as well unlike the taking out the male member to piss on the other team celebrations we saw in college this week.

On the other hand…

The college product is pretty dang good now that OU & Texas are in the SEC and Oregon is in the Big 10. Took a bit to get used to but has provided more can’t miss matchups each week.

Yeah, I have no issue with college football Saturdays. With streaming you can watch just about any game in the country and set up several TVs with relative ease.

So you do follow the nfl? Injuries, roster management, salary cap, contract details, etc.

Agree the product in B10 and SEC is pretty damn good minus a few.

I think it all matters why an individual enjoyed college football. For me, really enjoyed the HS recruiting aspect and knowing “my team” had a top 5 class etc…Now that is gone, for the most part, as teams can retool half the roster in an offseason. That to me is very professional sports ish. All about kids getting the money they deserve but it’s the transfer portal that rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it’s just getting use to it, maybe I am just getting older or maybe it’s both. I watch on Saturdays, not gonna pretend I don’t, but an aspect I loved I feel got lost with the portal.

Having college aged kids and friends with college aged kids that attend SEC/B10 universities certainly adds some extra pleasure into my Saturdays.

Knowing a few kids on the fields is a plus as well.

I still like the college game. I have a few favorite teams and then watch teams that have local talent playing on the team. I will also watch top 20 games.

As far as the NFL, I pretty much turned that off during the covid years. I did pay attention to GB and the Bears and now increased it to the Bears division and KC.

I think hs is the most exciting especially when you get to the final 8 in the playoff brackets.

Interesting point here. Are you saying Kevin O'Connell doesn't work well with QBs?
