Who would you want as PSU AD?

LOL... You got me curious enough to look her up on YouTube, and now she's all over my page... I suppose it could be way worse.
Does anyone think Kraft does anything anyway? He's the mouthpiece and future scapegoat of the athletics program. He runs nothing and decides nothing without his boss's approval. Him being gone does nothing.We often discuss the right football coach for PSU. How about AD? You wake up tomorrow morning and Kraft has gone ”Poof!” Vanished without a trace. Who do you want to replace him?
I'd add his handling of CJF and the new hire last year is enough to can him now. First, he shouldn't have fired him when he did, especially without a plan (though I assume Rhule was the guy until fans revolted). Second, he shouldn't have allowed a bunch of Franklin's buddies stay on the staff and continue to recruit for Franklin. Third, if he was going to fire Franklin mid-season he should have named Smith the HC going forward and then worked on negotiating with someone who could come in no strings attached. As it stands, Campbell fell into his lap after we were publicly embarrassed by the Crumbl Cookie Empire and Mormons.

Success leaves clues. Step 1 ID the 5 most successful (without cheating, which leaves UM out) Athletic Departments in football and men’s basketball. Step 2 either hire that AD, or his/hers number 1 deputy. Step 3, organize and right-size the Athletic Department for the following 2 objectives: an NC in football, and a Big Ten titles in men’s basketball. Step 4 hire a big time charity’s best fund raiser to lead our NIL efforts. Doesn’t matter what the charity does, get their best fundraiser. Step 5 Solicit billionaires - would you, Mr. Billionaire like to be PSUs Nike? Indiana‘s Mark Cuban? What would you like in return? A think tank or a building named after you? A seat on our Board of Governors? Name it, it’s yours.

That said:
You certainly wouldn't lose anything (of value) if he is gone.
What would you gain?
1) $3 Million+ per year (his comp - which, this coming year, will include an additional $1 million BONUS, for spending $700 M plus on the stadium)
2) Several million more per year in wasted payroll on all his buddies.
3) You gain by losing someone who entered into ****** deals with Elevate, Adidas, Playfly, et al. It is going to take a long time to unwind some of those deals - but the sooner you stop the bleeding, the better.
4) You gain by losing the guy who oversaw the NIL fiasco of the last several years (who is even in charge right now?). That has to be a plus.
5) You gain by losing the guy who has had 5 major sports coach hires in his career - all of them disasters (the jury is still out on Campbell, of course)
6) And, of course, you gain by losing a guy who has overseen a department that is allergic to being honest. Which can't be a bad thing - right?

If PSU sh|tcans Kraft, other “schools” may lock up their ADs with high-dollar extensions. It happened with a few coaches last year when Franklin was sh|tcanned.
In any case, if Kraft were sh|tcanned, no doubt PSU would hire someone for at least the same dollar figure. PSU ain’t saving money in sports.

Anyone who would hire Urban Meyer, which is what should have happened last year.
When Kraft whiffed on Meyer and then couldn't get his ole buddy Rhule to come back to his alma mater, I had concerns about Kraft. I confess that I glossed over that, at the time, being thrilled with Kraft canning Franklin. Whatever happens, at least Kraft did one thing right!

I don't know if he would be my first choice, but I saw a guy in the Tavern downtown that looked a lot like Urban Myer wearing a fake mustache.
Have positive impressions of both - particularly Steele. But, no. Not for that job.
