$250 face for opener vs. Penn State. Yeah makes sense. Maybe higher on secondary market.

But Ball State, per the ticketmaster map, there are about 10 rows in the back that have zero seats sold. Face value $250. Those aren't gonna sell. Why not make them $90 - $100? I'm going to go with my daughter who is a grad student and we'll suck it up and buy something but my son wants to come too and I'm not gonna pay another $250 for him.

So what happens? No secondary market? And then the seats are unsold?

Just seems like NU has maybe put a pricing structure in that works for PSU Ilinois and other marquee games but is going to completely price the casual fan out of the market particulary for the non-premier games,

Try stubhub or seat geek. Both have between 130 and 150 per tix for 3 seats

Did you see the Iowa prices? Hard to conclude they are not swamping the market for that game...

It's hard to bring down the prices or do any version of dynamic prices in a public sale when season ticket holders and other "loyal" fans know what they were charged and paid.

They had their 3 year joyride with the 2 years on the overpriced (and charming) lakefront and now the arm twisting this year. Next year, it's either lower prices (no way), empty seats and/or NEB and OSU buying STs and dumping the excess tickets.

Not really - this isn't different from any other team. Season ticket holders pay a premium. That's how it is everywhere.

Don't get me wrong...for years I bought my season tickets at ORF knowing I could get most tickets on the secondary market for (literally) $5-10, but they raised the stakes pretty significantly for the new stadium...I think they know they're walking on eggshells when it comes to how they handle pricing right now and for the foreseeable future.

Yeah I'll prolly just buy $125 end zone seats from the school. But just saying those upper seats along both sidelines are sitting there completely unsold and they will stay that way while priced at $250 each to non ST holders for a game like Ball State without a big travelling base.

How so? If someone can literally pay less for every ticket on the secondary market than the face value there would be next to zero STH’s. In theory, it has to work so that the value of the ticket for marquee games exceeds face value on the secondary market to offset your loss for the Holy Cross et al games.

There are tickets on Ticketmaster for Ball State for $123 (and resale tickets for a little less).
I just lost the ticket I had for the homecoming game because a friend rescinded his season tickets because he got screwed over on parking I am not electronically astute, so can you give me some advice

Awfully difficult to still see it as "from the school" with the whole thing going through Ticketmaster. Secondary market is now the same place as "from the school"

Still looking for a Rutgers tic (which aren't out to public yet) and hoping a STH would let me buy in with them. Always better to sit with somebody from WR board :)
