With what we're charging, I wouldn't be surprised if it never sells out (assuming they don't drop the price between now and gameday).

As I posted on this in the renovation thread, I’ve been watching the sales on TM. There are probably a couple hundred unsold tickets, as opposed to the thousands of resales. The unsold tippy top upper west deck were recently cut from $525 to $515. And I’m shocked that they are slowly selling. And for the tippy top of the north upper deck, the $350ish tickets are barely selling.

I was shocked at the thousands of unsold tickets on homecoming. Nine days out, the whiteout isn’t a sellout, which is a shocking development.

I’ve got mine up on Ticketmaster below their suggested price and still no takers. Decent location too, EJ 40 on the end, so nobody behind you. Upgraded padded seat. Nada.

$330 list price for north end zone upper rows is absolutely insane.

Our strategy of seeing Penn State on the road is looking better and better.

Cheaper tickets, hotels, airfare, rentals cars and/or public transit. We get to explore new campuses and make each trip a mini-vacation.

I’m afraid the days of me seeing a top matchup at home are gone. I’m just not willing to pay that type of money for the experience anymore. There are far better options IMHO.

My thanks to those who will continue to pay the prices.

Those prices are absolutely ridiculous.

Fan's don't like the product on the field PSU better wake up and start running with Big Boys Or that big Stadium will be really empty.
From anyone I talk to, this is due to cost, not the product on the field (we were undefeated and just outside the top 10 on Saturday playing in front of a lot of empty seats).

I can't imagine anyone paying that - unless they are completely ignorant of "how this works"

There are scads of tickets (I didn't count the exact number, but has to be around 10,000 or more - available at a small fraction of those prices in the resale market (which you can access right on the PSU/Ticketmaster site.

I will be getting some tickets for out of town guests coming in for the game, so I have been keeping an eye on them.
Right now you can buy GOOD tickets (the ones I currently have bookmarked are in section ECU - about 1/2 way up, around row 60 (those are 30 yard line-ish, a section removed from the student section, so really goosd seats, for around $200 a piece.
In any event - MANY tickets available throughout the stadium at prices of around $200
So many that I will continue to wait a bit until prices drop even more (with thousands of tickets for sale, and very few buyers, the prices will continue to drop - no one wants to eat those tickets, and will eventually drop their asking price to try to reduce their losses)

I can't imagine anyone but a complete fool - or folks who just have no idea how this works - would be paying $500 per ticket, when they can get better tickets right now for well under half that price.
Never seen anything like this for a "marquee game"

A lot of people who bought from PSU, hoping to resell at a profit, are taking a bath.

Penn State Football vs. USC Tickets Sat, Oct 10, 2026 University Park, PA | Ticketmaster

Random screen shot of a couple of the stadium sections - these are typical throughout the stadium:

Before it is all said and done, I expect it will be near a sell out for USC (but if PSU loses to NW, even that may be off the table)
I am rather confident PSU will "announce" a new record crowd - which will be BS of course - but still, I expect 100,000+ for the game. But no where near a record (obviously).
PSU is rather between a rock and a hard place (thank you Elevate :) ) , because this does not make for happy fans.
PSU can:
- eat their remaining tickets
- continue to list them at crazy prices way above market, and hope ignorant fans buy some of them
- drop their prices to get SOMETHING for them, which should piss off those fans who are season ticket holders, or who bought earlier, and are trying to sell into an already plummeting market.

Won't be a huge deal for PSU for the USC game (since, I trust, the vast majority of tickets WILL be sold), but as this is happening - in far greater numbers - for all the games, get used to huge swaths of empty seats (ala the Wisconsin game)
The people running this circus are not too bright - obviously.

Can't help thinking the prices of those tickets will drop like a rock after tonight.
There are just SO many on the market - a week out - that they will drop regardless of tonight's outcome (at least a bit)

If PSU loses to NW? (I don't think that will happen - but it could) The folks still sitting on tickets they need to sell (and that is a lot of folks) will take a bath, for sure.

I’m really feeling a W tonight, just telling you what my gut’s saying.
There are a lot of reasons that PSU is a road favorite. The basic ones being that PSU just has more better players :)

Obviously, it is also JUST a field goal favorite - so there is a reasonable chance NW could win.
But, as is always the case, the emotional roller coaster of fan boards would lead one to believe - if all they did was read these types of boards - that PSU will be fortunate to not get blown out :)
Most of the people feeling that way have probably never seen NW play (Spoiler: their record to date, and scores of their games, is a LOT of fools' gold and good fortune). Unless PSU goes in there and wets the bed - again - they should win.

If I had a gun to my head to make a wager, I would probably take PSU, even giving the points.

But what say the degenerate gamblers like Erial and Grant?

I don't have anything on the side. I don't really cap college football on my own...one guy I follow likes NW a bit at +3, but that's pretty juiced up at this point. Gun to my head, I'd probably play PSU at a juiced up -2.5. I did play a couple of Rappleyea TD props that were a bit mispriced (imo).

There are tickets posted for less than $300 each in the lower bowl on the 50-yard line. Why would anyone pay $300 to sit in the upper deck or end zone?

1. Everything is getting more expensive, including game tickets, food, gas, and hotels.
2. Significant roster turnover year after year due to NIL. o_O and the TRANSFER. PORTAL. o_O eroding fans’ connection with the program.
3. PSU on a downward trajectory as a result of a sudden but necessary coaching change that disrupted recruiting.
4. Uncertainty about Campbell as the right coach for PSU.

Perfect timing for a $750 million stadium expansion. 😞

An aside: back when I was at my not-PSU college, I’d go down DC’s Florida Avenue to RFK Stadium to watch the Washington Diplomats play. (Johan Cryuff was the star, the Messi of his day.) My buddies and I would go up to the empty upper deck and pass around joints. Good times.

Regarding #1, my tv is free unless they put the game on peacock. And if the TV dies, technology is cheaper every year.

The sub-$300 seats are resales. The $300+ seats are face value tickets that PSU is selling right now.
Holy Crap. I just looked at stub hub and Ticketmaster. I don’t think we sold out if we were both undefeated. Some of those prices are outrageous for nosebleeds in the end zone

Back in the day, we used to drive up from the Philly burbs to the games and back home that night. Yes it was a long day but it was a fun day because people didn't act like total arseholes. Tickets were like $12 a game and all games I think started at 1:00 PM. Today, you can still make the drive from the Philly burbs, watch the game, and drive back home...however...tickets are hundreds of dollars, parking is $65(unless you pick a parking garage or south or north side of town and bus in), people act like total arseholes a lot more then back in the day, and game times change(driving home after a night game sucks after spending 2-3 hours getting out of the lots). Hotel prices are outrageous(I used to be able to call Friday before game and find a cancellation but there were way less hotels back in the day). Maybe because I am older and don't like dealing with arseholes as I like to actually watch the games(the younger generation seems to have to get up and down ALOT to get out and get or do something). I like my couch more then going to the games as it is a much more enjoyable experience then spending all that money to be miserable. After $1500+ is airfare to Europe!!

I'm still hoping that last week was a learning experience. You can't sit on a lead in the B1G.There's just too many things from missed calls to mistakes, to turnovers that change the momentum in a heartbeat. Campbell and <Maouser messed up last week. Welcome to the B1G
