South Point was one muffed punt and one busted play away from possibly being shut out. I thought Crest was the bigger stronger team in the trenches overall and once the game went on for a while and especially in the 2nd half than we begin to see that separation. SP having absolutely no passing game threat didn’t help their cause.

Agree somewhat. Some unforced errors for sure by crest. But….yall switching the front by end of first qtr and getting into your trips and even sets after that first disastrous drive was good moves by your coaches.

You want GC to reduce 2-3HSs, combine some groups and see how things turn out with 8-9 GC HS vs CC 4 Hs?
you just split SC team bw SP, EG and Ash and you are probably looking at sub 500 record for CC. That’s just one school reduction scenario that touches 3 other areas and adding 3-4 above avg to good players to each team. If that happened I’m sure CC would make sure to move conferences like Shelby did in late 90s to avoid the beatings

Burns alone is 34-0 against GC since 2018. Yes most of those were against very bad teams but it does include a few wins over SP & SC and a pretty good EG team in 2021

When teams that spread you out such as Hickory play against this Crest defense there QB’s get hit a lot just ask Shelby
@DeBoer31 i am glad to see you on here defending your team. I thought SP came out fired up and ready to play. SP as usual is well coached and what they do. SP did not play bad. It looked like it was turning into a typical Red Raider affair until you guys let Crest close to 14-10. After that it seemed that SP started to wear down. I will say that Crest is getting better. You did not get the early season Crest team. Last night is the first time this year that Crest started resembling a team ready to make a run for a title.
SP receivers not catching the balls killed so many drives... you change those to catches we might be talking a lil different here..but shoulda coulda woulda right... good thing state playoffs don't start in October.... if I'm SP I'm throwing the the ball 25 times vs NG to get some reps in... I like the SP teams that lose now or even earlier.... Come playoff time.. they are dialed in. This is nothing to take away from Crest they did what they were supposed to do.. it's GG..tell that edge player you got hey... he did pretty good.
Heard NG played their last regular season game last night. Kept it going through homecoming and shutting it down to JV the rest of the year. My info is from my wife (a NG grad) so might not be right.
Throwing the ball against NG will not make you better because they don’t have anything that resembles a defense ..
