Its not so much the news itself....its the slap-dickery that shortly follows. Once the slaps start tup it gets killed

That may have been the worst/best secret I’ve heard in a long time. Denied ALL the way to the very end by both sides.

Some could argue this entire subject has been a big nothing. I'm a big fan of Tyler and his firing is indeed strange. Yet we have no additional info and we most likely will never know.

We just finally got public confirmation he is on MC staff and you are going all the way to head coach in waiting?
Why is this even a story? I don't get it.....
Because the head coach from one of the highest profile programs in the state was fired mid season and is now on the sideline of a different high profile program. I think most people would consider that a pretty big story, especially on a message board dedicated to high school football.
And.....
- Said program is coming off a 2nd place finish last year and odds on favorite in its class this year.
- Alum and family ties to the program.
- Mystery and rumors about the actual separation....still extremely odd.
Understandable if Edgy doesn't want to touch it with what he does for a living but to pretend it's not a story is bizarre.
In my own opinion which I base on Provy parents I know to other coaches in CCL who I know and what they say which even Edgy can ask them - it's sad to see how TP was directly thrown under bus by Provy admin and indirectly (and hypothetically) by someone on his own staff. Great get for MC. TP will easily be a HC at a big program next season
OK good I wasn't the only one who didn't get it. The whole Provi situation was the story. I don't see what the big deal is about where he ended up, it's not like it was a big shock for him to end up at another CCL school. With players and coaches moving from one school to the next the CCL is one big incestuous conference.

I've talked to several people with ties to Provy and they all say the same thing. It was one of his assistants that got him and it all started in the off season.IDK. Do u know of a big program looking for a head coach next season? I don’t believe he is a teacher, which I think would make it difficult for a public school to hire him as a head coach.
In a Mainse South sort of way, or an actual contributor?
I want to know WHY I despise the Celtics and Providence now, after 63 years of respecting & somewhat supporting them.
Sure they don't owe me (or us) an answer, but I don't think they realize what a PR nightmare they stepped into.
Whatever the truth really is, it cannot be worse than "Providence threw a good guy, former player and coach under the bus for no reason".

Edgy, in all do respect…your lack of interest in this story is very disappointing. Saying this as a someone who has been on this board for almost 20 years.
My point being we will most likely never find out why he was fired......and without knowing that....in my mind it's pretty much a dead story. I wish Tyler the best of luck and the same with Provi but whatever the real story is....we will most likely never know.

Well I'm not on Life Support yet, that I'm aware of.
Are we talking about one MC defensive coordinator, that may also be MIA since landing on Lynch's bad side?
He is still on the staff as the LB coach. Safety Coach Trey Ross is now calling the defense. It was explained that a new voice was needed as something's wasn't working. Both Coaches are also in school employees and teachers. Nobody lost their job, just a change of coaching titles. Plantz is not the DC. He's an assistant, a great mind and an experienced set of eyes to help out for the remainder of the season.
I know people will call BS and say he's the DC but you don't come in blind to a program week 8 and take over the defense in full, nor do I think he would want to come in and do that. Much different being an in house replacement then coming in blind at this stage. I'm sure he will play a pivotal part and MC is lucky to have him but he's not the DC.

I have not read anywhere on here where people think Plantz is now DC, but I'm sure somebody said it and I missed it. Probably the same people that said Plantz will be replacing Lynch soon.
Everything I've read is basically in step with what you said in your first paragraph.

My understanding is that Harrington's move to FS and trying Kennedy at D - which were both successsful were TPs suggestions. Seemed like they worked pretty well against LA last nite
