UNC Field Hockey 2026-2027

This is a bad time to have a game like this. Hopefully we can use this game to motivate us moving forward.
We looked tired, or uninterested. LU consistently got to balls first.
Maybe don't play 5 straight road games all the way across country?
Liberty earned that win, we were outplayed.
those refs were not great at all but did not cost us the game; our lack of tenacity did.
we repeatedly let a single ball handler dribble over half the field with no challenge. They entered the circle barely challenged often.
conversely Liberty maintained near perfect defensive shape throughout and conceded nothing. we got impatient at times with their defense with wild pass attempts and playing out of control.
the weather clearly affected UNC with balls hopping off of our pass receptions but Liberty seemed unphased. It was a return to our many unforced turnovers earlier in the year. I hope that was just weather.
speaking of weather, that satellite feed was awful. As much as people complain at times about ACCN at some away games, it is consistently way better than what we see on ESPN+

Prophetic in the accuracy of this prognostication
Part of it is no more redshirts, we should see more freshmen playing going forward, although I am not sure we had a choice this year starting out: all hands on deck.
Was it raining today at Liberty. How many road games did we play in a row. If it was five and it was raining then this is a good reason why we did not come out like we should have. Not making any excuses but the weather does have an affect. We will just have to bounce back.
Not a great situation, but I do think our odds of either winning out or winning the ACCT are pretty high.
ACCT is at home too, I believe.
Just keep winning.
