Only 4 regular season games left.
Dook, NCSU, and W&M clearly are not going to move the needle, so that puts a ton of emphasis on our next game at #6 Pitt on Friday. A win there and we are in the discussion for a top 16 seed.
Top 16 is a magic number: you get a first round bye and play the 2nd round at home. Top 8 (3rd round home game) seems out of reach right now unless we win the ACCT.
Last year, the highest ranked RPI teams to be left out were #34 GA Southern and #35 Gardner-Webb (lowest RPI teams to get an at-large were #44 ND and #42 St. John's) so lets say teh bubble starts at #35. As of right now we have significant cushion to avoid the bubble.

In terms of the ACC tournament seeding: if we win two games we will be at 14 points. Win all three and we stand at 17. Either way, we have almost no shot at the #1 seed, which earns a bye. Undefeated SMU is already at 15 points.
We are currently sitting at 8th in the conference. We control our own destiny up to 6th place.
7th place UVA (9 points) could win out and stay in front of us, but they play Pitt. also; a tough game. Plus #32 'cuse who is ahead of them in RPI slightly.
There is currently a 4-way tie for 4th at 10 points. 4th place VT has only two conference games remaining. Win and we pass VT.
Beat Pitt and win out and we will pass them as well.
Louisville is the other team tied for 4th. But they still have to play #2 RPI Clemson, #5 RPI SM, & #34 RPI ND. Lose just one and we can overtake them.
Wake is also a team we could pass currently tied for 2nd with Clemson and 12 points. They only have two left and #2 RPI Clemson (plus #32 'cuse) . Lose or tie either game and we can pass them as well. Clemson does have three tough games remaining, as already noted, but we would need them to lose one & tie another to pass them. (Win one and tie two and they win the tie break due to head-to-head win.)
The tie-break for teams who have not played each other is goal differential. We sit at +7 currently and would be at +10 minimum if we win out. That is likely going to be way better than any team we may tie.
All of this is to say, beat Pitt on Friday and there is a ton of intrigue to watch where we could move up nationally and in the ACC quite a bit. Lose that game and we could still land our first ACCT game at home, but an uphill climb after that. And we should be fine for the NCAAT, barring a collapse, but it would set us up for another pretty pedestrian season.
Basically the entire ACC except dook is still well alive for an at-large NCAAT berth. The chances of winning all three games is pretty low. But there is always a chance...
