Sad thing is, is that Morris and Montini will battle. Only to have Roch in the finals. The seeding needs changedIf the Broncos thought the Sandburg QB did a number on them, Persich is a whole different beast.

That is a pretty bold statement given SHG's win last night. The Cyclones are the 4A South favorite for the playoffs.Sad thing is, is that Morris and Montini will battle. Only to have Roch in the finals. The seeding needs changed
1-32 is preferableSad thing is, is that Morris and Montini will battle. Only to have Roch in the finals. The seeding needs changed
One of the team might have to play the other 2 teams regardless of the seeding. Montini and Rochester have won the state championships in the last 5 years. Morris has good teams but I do not think it has won it all in the last 3-4 years.1-32 is preferable
I believe the last Morris title was in 06 with Dergo playing in 6AOne of the team might have to play the other 2 teams regardless of the seeding. Well safe travels over, wish we had a better product on the field to make the game more interesting. Im worried it'll be quite ugly. Regardless, enjoy your trip. Hoping to make it over myself. I still just have nightmares of 2010 every time I think about the Rockets at 10th and JacksonYes...it was a great game and the right team came out on top.
I'm really looking forward to coming to Quincy next week. It's been too long for these two great programs!
I know what you mean... but if these 3 are in the semis together, you could argue the seeding worked out. And south will likely be SHG v. Rochester part deux... and if thats the case with Montini v. Morris north then the seeding didn't matter. I do however agree, 1-32 seeding remains the more logical option to ensure we get this scenario more often.Sad thing is, is that Morris and Montini will battle. Only to have Roch in the finals. Given your past at the stadium, I am certain it was deserved. It is likely you cut them off or they were among the many who were threatened, pushed, assaulted after the game. Maybe one of them was the girlfriend of the player who was punched while down and directly in front of the ref. Maybe one of them was a family member of the player who has his nose broken though he wears a fill facemask. But I can see how it could happen given the fact small hands are a common trait among the CyclonesAll.... I actually had two Rochester girls give me the finger as I was driving out. Ironic though that what was described as assault and aggravated battery of players doing "stuff" to their own for God knows how long tells me typical Rochester kids with no real penallty at a much higher level and out of control.
And don't get me started how Rochester adults treat visiting fans to the games. But if it lessens the sting of the Rockets loss for you go ahead and yap about kids Be my guest. Poor behavior is an adult and juvenile thing that occurs at games by Rochester fans..A total package. How proud you must be.... Ratsy P.S. Try to get some sleep tonight.
I expect it to be Morris. They are very deserving of the ranking.Rochester is a tough place to play. I'm sure the SHG students storming the Rockets home turf didn't do anything to help lower the temperature
Is Rochester still the #1 team in 4A?Morris? Montini?
Frankly, I see this as a one score game, just like in 2017. Who knows which way it goes.Still not completely convinced Morris beats Rochester, but it is nice to see they struggled with a running QB.
100%. As it sits today, Montini would be a #9 seed, with a path to meet Morris in the 2nd round.Sad thing is, is that Morris and Montini will battle. Only to have Roch in the finals. The seeding needs changed
And it could get lower, I think they will beat SF but it's not crazy they lose this week.100%. As it sits today, Montini would be a #9 seed, with a path to meet Morris in the 2nd round.
All.... Still butthurt and reeling after the loss. Haaaa. Throw out any narratives that might make you feel a bit better. Real or imagined. Poor cigaros scrambling trying to keep up. Cigaros aka JW. Throwing trash accusations is petty, just like the Facebook page you administer. Cornerrat is a good guy. Your reputation within the Rocket community is well deserved. You are not liked or respected for constant negative comments. You definitely do not represent the Rocket community.Given your past at the stadium, I am certain it was deserved. Actually, not discontent at all. You just have a history of being a dick at Rocket booster Stadium. And I feel no sympathy for the fact a couple teenagers got your blood boiling. Everything was just fine at the game until the aftermath. And it seems people like you support that kind of nonsense. And I'm not referring to the the onfield moments. It was the behavior in the parking lot and at the gates as people were trying to leave. Try pulling that at Detroit king, Detroit Cass Tech, Detroit Catholic Central, or closer to home in East St. Louis. Let me know what hospital they take you to so I can make sure your bleacher seat goes home with you when you're releasedAll.... Still butthurt and reeling after the loss. Haaaa. We're both 7-1. We expected to be 7-1. You did not. And you'll notice, I never say anything bad about your squad.... just you. Because of the way you act at other people's home fields.
All.... Obviously you were out of class when the Jesuits were discussing the ninth commandment. You are though triggered quite easily. A couple of Cyc fans keep me apprised of that rag Rochester football facebook site . Amused how easily trolls get you enraged like a little child and you getting drawn into replying which they absoulutely love. What was that they told me you said the other day. Thnking.... Oh yes what an intellectual reply to someone you were unhappy with on your board. "Your mom is a ho." Brilliant retort. sir. As well as doxing other posters.
Rochester was smart on facebook to have what they call the official RHS Rocket Team site approve by Coach Leonard and the RHS football Moms. Tired and weary of getting calls with embarrassing comments by you on your facebook site. Energy matched. Hardly. Ratsy P.S. Never forget I'm your huckleberry.

Might be just enough wind to push me back to the tailgate by end of the 1st if I make the trip. Get the setup in the garage going with Calhoun/BC on the mounted TVs for the locals with interest, then the laptop and phone going with 2 or 3 other games going... Wouldn't be the first time I've gone to a QND game, only to get taken to the woodshed, leave frustrated, take the slow walk back onto the street and up the steps to the tailgate, grab a plate, a couple cold ones, then a chair at the table in the garage and watch other HS games whilst we take the rest of the beat down..Quincy - A high of 59 Low of 36. Wind gustion to 22.
You raised a very interesting point when it comes to the differences between the North and the South. When you run the numbers, and I only do it for 4A because this is where I see the most broad geographical spread across the state in respect to the 4A schools. I could do it for 5A as well, however 5A is a little less represented in the more southern part of the downstate area, you see the following:Big rivalry, not usually quite this nasty though. Just really good football games every. single. time. When Ken and Derek were facing each other you could visibly see how much both hated playing the other. Ken always seemed completely uninterested in defeating his son. And Derek had some damn good teams towards the end of Ken's run at SHG.
It remains the best rivalry game in the state if you ask us down here in the sticks south of the Chi-Land area... I know, I know.. CCL rivalries and such... Old small school hatred games and such... but this one deserves to be listed near the top for sure.
I mean you nailed it with the last statement... the south representative at state in 4A has been a world-beater type program for most the last 16 years... you know "them" well I think... lol The high is one of the highest the state has to offer, but the low remains the median so to speak. I mean look at the programs that gave Rochester fits at any point all these years, or were expected to if they'd played... I'll include us for back in the day... we had a few good teams damnit lol but BMD, QND, Althoff, Metamora, Charleston, BCC, Mt. Zion, PND to name some... none of them are particularly threatening if they were to go north at any time. Althoff some years, B-Mac that one year they beat Rockets, and Metamora in 09/10 maybe... again maybe... We'll see this with Maroa up north in 2A this year likely, right? You raised a very interesting point when it comes to the differences between the North and the South. I could do it for 5A as well, however 5A is a little less represented in the more southern part of the downstate area, you see the following:
The overall average ranking per Maxpreps and Massey is as follows:
Top 8 seeds
North- 155.5
South- 81.5
Bottom 16 seeds
North- 267.2
South- 220.9
Overall brackets
North 234.6
South- 180.9
There will be the extreme outliers Such as the traditional Rochesters, Montinis, Morris, and the upstart class which has 2-3 year run. i.e- Murphysboro is likely 1-8 this year after making the final in 2019, and 4 straight quarterfinal or better appearances post COVID. However, the general balance is misperceived. Of the top 8 seeds in the North, only 2 are ranked in the DOUBLE digits. In the South, only 2 are ranked in the TRIPLE digits. Of the bottom 16 seeds, 3 from the North are ranked in the 400's, while the lowest in the South are the 3 which sit near 350. And this likely explains why the South isn't hearing it when they have a 12-5 record in the title game since 2008.
Is there still a slap fight going on?
Not at all. We are discussing how the North and South differ in the quality of opponent in the path to the quarter finals. I contend the North has the easy games as they are typically facing CPS schools in the early rounds. Of course we will see an Olney or Macomb go 9-0 and then lose in the 2nd round on an annual basis. And we will see the typical Taylorville up or down in a given year. But the CPS 1st or 2nd round games are basically scrimmages for the JVIs there still a slap fight going on?

I misunderstood your post then... apologies. I'll admit I was more focused on watching the game of Calhoun v. North Greene I found from this year. Calhoun is good, but they haven't played the big dogs in the league this year. There's a 1A guy really high on Calhoun over BC... but BC has been tested this year. Calhoun has not.Not at all.
