Dochterman on Hank Brown: "His ball placement has been rough this year."

So Brown's ball placement was rough (I think he means poor by using the word rough) in the game he went 12-12? Hank was 70% completion rate against ISU. He was under a good deal of pressure against Mich and OSU so yeah you can see some passes being a bit off.

I think if Hank had the Iowa running attack from 2024 and '25 he would not have had the pressure on him the last two games. so not sure where the Dochter is coming from
he threw 3 should of been INT's on that final drive against Michigan.

Who predicted a 5-1 start to the season? Anybody? Anyone? Bueller?
Well we’ve been favored in 3 and underdogs in 3 so technically we’ve gotten 2 we shouldn’t have. Now you can argue that neither Washington or Michigan is what anyone thought they were going to be but a win at the Big House is great no matter what and a beat down in the Western time zone is basically unheard of for us.

meh, most books are only 50-60% accurate with spreads below 6 points. Iowa/Michigan, Iowa/Washington match that criteria that it's a flip of the coin. It's also really difficult to give an SP+ rating for a team like Iowa.

So you had us at 5-1 and winning on the West Coast for the 1st time since 1965 on a Friday night on a short week and winning at Michigan before the season?

Well, I'm a homer, so yeah. Now if you would have asked me after the first quarter of the Michigan game, I might have re-thought that comment.

To be fair, part of what made the rushing attack successful for the 2025 team was having an actual dual threat QB in Gronowski...............

He finished with a record 16 rushing TDs for an Iowa QB, and 545 yds, good for second behind Moulton's 878.

We simply won't get even a fourth of that production from Brown OR Hecklinski.
My thought is with Heck, our running game will be better because overall he is a more accurate thrower, he does not stare down a receiver and he can move better in and around the pocket. In addition I think the playbook has many more options for Heck than Hank, which also helps the running game.

I thought we would be 10-2 this year. Losing to OSU and Illinois. I will still hold at 10-2 but maybe more likely a loss to Northwestern or Nebraska. Edited for this add.......I also did NOT think Michigan and Washington were going to be world beaters. But I thought we would play much better against ISU given the new staff, etc. at home. Long way to go but they have a bunch of opportunity in front of them. Take care of the Goofs!
