with YOUTUBETV you can watch 4 at once, so which one gets counted?? BTW I like this youtubetv thingy.
Doesn’t help being up against prime SEC games either. I think the whiteout has been up against Bama-UGa for a few years now.
It probably would help if the Big 10's best teams and biggest games were played on Saturday nights rather than at 12:00 p.m. when a lot of people are running weekend errands and going to kids' football, soccer and baseball games. Most of the NBC Saturday night Big 10 games are much worse matchups than most of ABC's Saturday night SEC games. This is why ABC slobbered all over the SEC and sold their soul to obtain the broadcast rights.
Great decision on their part. This is why ABC slobbered all over the SEC and sold their soul to obtain the broadcast rights.
Might want to see ratings for IU-Nebraska. Mid tier game and great ratings. Not sure why people hate the noon games. Great matchups get great ratings whenever it's played. It probably would help if the Big 10's best teams and biggest games were played on Saturday nights rather than at 12:00 p.m. when a lot of people are running weekend errands and going to kids' football, soccer and baseball games. For example, OSU hasn't played one NBC Saturday night game this season, but has played several Big Noon games, and of course their game against IU is a Big Noon game. That's just another reason why I hate everything about Fox having the Big 10.
I just wanted to point out that one of the reasons why the ABC SEC Saturday night games are destroying NBC Big 10 Saturday night games most of the times in the ratings is because almost always the Big 10's most attractive game is played on Fox at noon. I know that you aren't anti noon games, but I am, and especially for the rare enticing matchups between two Big 10 teams, and they're really haven't been that many in recent seasons, like this weekend against IU and OSU.Might want to see ratings for IU-Nebraska. Glad to see that a relatively small audience watched us sh|t the bed.

Remember that the Bama-Georgia game had the two most promient SEC teams playing in it. My guess is that if the game had been Florida-LSU, or Ole Miss-Oklahoma, the ratings would've been significantly lower. With that said, the typical NBC Saturday night Big 10 game usually is very uncompelling. Let's face it: despite winning the last three NCs, the Big 10 right now is made up mostly of mediocre to bad teams, and just isn't a great overall conference. But, its all supposed to be about those "geographic TV markets"! (Remember? Adding Rutgres?)
SoCal and the NE
vs
2 Teams from the deep south - with only Atlanta as a major demographic market.
Hmm?
No doubt about that.Remember that the Bama-Georgia game had the two most promient SEC teams playing in it. The Big 10 definitely has entered a poor period overall; I don't even think that IU is that great this season and they're probably the second best team in the conference. These things usually are cyclical, but it really hurts that Michigan has become a mediocre program after winning the NC in 2023, and PSU has become worse than mediocre after 2024, and they are two Big 10 teams that traditionally have attracted high TV ratings. No doubt about that.
Its always been the case: Overwhelmingly people watch when they think they will see two good teams.
Not of a concern for anyone here, of course, but the relative desert of good Big Ten football games has got to eventually bite the Big Ten (HARD) in the ***. There are some weeks where there is not a single worth-a-damn game - not from a national level.
Too many sh$tty teams = way too many sh$tty games (and very few that are anywhere near compelling - as opposed to the SEC)
How long before "kick out Rutgres (and a few others)" gets floated? At the very least "OK, you can stay for now, but we cut your share of the $ in half"
And would be a real kill shot if the league remains this bottom heavy with crap teams - AND PSU (or Michigan or Oregon or one of the other "big boys") would hit the sh$ts for an extended period.
Jim Delany really wasn't a bad Commissar (though a lot of PSU fans have reason to hate him). Delany would be the head of the class vs the current lineup of commissioners - and leaps and bounds ahead of the nitwits who have followed him in the Big Ten (The last 2 have been kind of the Barbour/Kraft of league commisars).
But that Rutgres/Maryland addition was one of the dumbest moves in the history of "sports leadership" (especially the Rutgres portion).
The fact that he probably could have added Texas/Oklahoma instead (and there was talk of ND, though I am always skeptical of that).... and ended up with Rutgres? Rutgres?? There was never a moment in the history of forever - even on the Island of Village Idiots - where that was not a too-stupid-to-even-discuss idea.
Not shocking but for comparison last year’s game against Oregon drew 8.5mm viewers (would be third on this list).
Correct because they don't want to go up against Bama-Georgia for ratings. They pick up huge ratings at the noon slot then maintain solid ratings in other slots. How many watch Indiana-Nebraska when Bama-Georgia is on? I wouldn't have.I just wanted to point out that one of the reasons why the ABC SEC Saturday night games are destroying NBC Big 10 Saturday night games most of the times in the ratings is because almost always the Big 10's most attractive game is played on Fox at noon. Turns out 9.8 mil would rather watch the RRR than Nebby/IU.Correct because they don't want to go up against Bama-Georgia for ratings. They pick up huge ratings at the noon slot then maintain solid ratings in other slots. How many watch Indiana-Nebraska when Bama-Georgia is on?

For me, JMO, I get to watch the best Big Ten at noon then the best of the rest
This weekend it's
Ohio State-Indiana
Alabama-Tennessee or Mizzou-Ole Miss (I'll be watching our game but those are options)
Notre Dame-BYU
Not a great slate of games but that's a good lineup. If you move Ohio State/Indiana to prime time it gets much worse

LOL--you're good at making up things--my wife and I have, for the nearly 30 years we've been married, have an understanding--in the fall I watch football. Always have always will. Very few things trump that (for example, by granddaughter's birthday party last year during the UCLA so I only got to watch the first half) then the rest of the year we do whatever she wants. I've explained that countless times. And literally anything she wants all spring/summer (NHL playoffs are also off limits when the Pens are good)You seem like a couch potato. Do you ever exercise?
You one posted that even your wife didn't like how much TV you watch.
I suspect you resemble this guy....
