I for one was rooting for RU to lose because if GS wins a few more games, it will be that much harder to get rid of him. It is time to rip off the band aid now because RU has reached its limit under Schiano RU football needs to go in a different direction. Heck he can't even coach defense anymore. Every time I see him on the sideline there seems to be something off with him. Just look at today when the sun was shining into the RU sideline, instead of wearing a hat and some sunglasses(which I would assume he has access to) he is using this small piece of paper to shield his eyes. It is nitpicking but to me he is missing a cog.

Johansen is not the clown. He has a history of great defenses when he’s allowed to run them. The guy that hired him and forced him to run the same base BS is the problem.
WRONG !!!
He is in charge of which players are on the field.
#41 would not be seeing the field on any P4 team.

Congrats Greg on victory 101. Hearing several high level donors with influence are starting to come around to Greg back in 2027.

Talk about a close game. The difference between winning and losing was literally a toenail. If Rutgers lost this one after being up by 2 touchdowns with just a couple of minutes left, I think some of the fan base might actually even be calling for Greg to be fired.

I can't imagine wanting to lose the Maryland game. Twerps fans think they are better than they are and must be reminded of their place every year
Agree and I doubt this win ,or any future win this year, will have Zinn reassessing Schiano's status..
I feel that Keli knows Greg isn't the type of HC that will bring Rutgers to the promised land and she'll replace him once she has everything put together so she can buy him out and bring in someone she feels can make the program a name brand.

Games coming up won’t change Schiano’s fortune , the die has already been cast and it already has been decided if he’ll have another year based on if Zinn can afford to replace him now and be able to pay him off and afford to bring in someone Keli feels can get the job done and be able to bring in the type of staff that the new HC wants

With Northwestern at Ryan’s place
Kyle Michigan at home
The Fickelled Wisconsin game being played in Madison
Rhule Nebraska coming to the Shi
Then to Ped St at unhappy valley
And finally the MSU Fitzgeralds coming to play in Piscataway
Schiano can only hope he can win enough of them so Zinn can stay with her replacement schedule and not have the move forced on her earlier than planned

Never Never Ever should have come down to this.
14 POINT lead 3 minutes to go and Maryland is 4th and 3 at their own 10 yard line. 45 yard gain.
Fast forward 3 minutes and a toe nail away from Maryland tying it up. Defense is atrocious..Coaching worse.
Odds of RUnwinning at that point had to be like 95% but we almost didn’t

Isn't the closest @RU Cheese ever got to the field was playing the clarinet in the HS band.
Guy is a total zero when it comes to football. Might be to put him out to pasteur with cali and bac. 3 old zeroes.

And and how he scribbles notes on a small piece of paper on his fingertips. That really grinds my gears. 😏

Nice 2nd half comeback to Schiano’s credit. First half ending was brain fart.

End half and end game time management was once again awful. Thought he should have stuck with Clay who was hotter hand.

But gets credit. Kept chopping after poorly coached 1st half. We could have thrown in towel and did not.

Duff should be All American.
Lonergan was pretty good.
Carter was nice bonus.
Clay next in line of nice RBS.

What are you even saying. This was about how Johansen is not running his d. The d he has a track record of success. We are not running Johansen a d here. We are running Schianos base 4-3 d. Not Johnson’s 4-2-5. Nothing has changed.
No, we are running g a 4-2-5. Only 2 LBs so not sure what you are seeing

You tell ‘em Cheese. How many better wins does 2.0 have than this ?
Prob beating Wash at him when we were outplayed except for penalties was probably his best 2.0 win. I discount Miami bowl game as Miami lost so many guys to the portal/sitting out that game

Schiano out coached Locksley at the half which was an unusually nice change. Maryland bot running their QB more was criminal.

In name only. Same exact d we’ve run. Just renamed the outside responsibility. From an LB to a “strong Safety” STUD. Not even close to the defense Johansen has run previously.

Does this look or sound like the defense we are running? Nope. Looks just like the defense of old. Only the name for position groups has changed.

I've always said what the hell is he taking notes for? He's got video that will show him everything & 400 assistants whose memories he can pick as well.

That is not the debate. It’s if we are running Johansoms defense. Which we are not.

Buddy I’m still waiting for you to respond to my question of you saying Mascoe won’t be a loss.

Doesn’t look at all like a GS1.0 D known for unpredictable blitzes, DL stunts up the gazoo..etc. I don’t see it at all.

And playing a safety instead of a LB is a big deal. It is more 4-2-5 than 4-3-4

Looks exactly like Greg 1.0 and 2.0. Renkhart was what is now being called a stud is this rendition. He was a flex lb/strong safety.

Edit: if your watching the BYU ND game. Look at the BYU defense. That is the type of D that Johanson has run in the past. A true 4-2-5 positionless scheme. D being run here doesn’t look anything like the d he has run prior.

First game I've watched since UMass. Really just wanted to see Duff. Heard the 1st TD call on the radio, great catch obviously, and I loved the 2nd one as well, the way he slowed down, boxed out the defender and then reached out to snatch the ball.

We have some other talented skill guys too. Hopefully we can bring some back.

Refreshing to hear their coach post game. “We came to throw haymakers and be aggressive”. Wish we played with that fire and mindset. That’s how you chop giants.

Holy. Still watching the end of the game.

The drop by the RB (lost in the sun)

And the toe on the sideline.

Holy.

And I said a number of times that was a huge loss on Defense…
Just like Schiano not paying and losing Mo Toure, Jordan Walker, etc.
FWIW the DC does have control who’s on the field and who he has out there (#41, #35, ) can’t’ “run” his Defense or Schiano’s.

Penalties and multiple missed FGs for the Huskies. Not sure Schiano should get much credit for that one, and it was a home game.

But ok, a win is a win.
