Do or die day for Luke. The guy who beat him is really hard to score against. Luke did a lot better than the other guys he beat to get to the finals. I think Luke has a good shot at winning the bronze.

I think that was the talk during the U20 tournament where he beat PJ but I’m not sure. I’ve it heard both ways

Tough loss for James. He’s obviously right there. I think he needs to just take a real shot from time to time. He gets in the habit of just taking half shots to create action where his feel almost always wins out but against top guys they can shut it down. Still, he’s had an incredible year especially for an 18 year old
In general I agree with you on the number of shots he takes, but his Finals match was different. He hit that beautiful high crotch for two, but on the other side of the coin, it was off of his own shot that he lost the "step out" point to go down on criteria, ultimately costing him the match. I may be way off on this, but on that step out point it almost looked like he was thinking of the old grounded rules. It looked like he could have just waited for the position to be called dead. Overall, an outstanding tournament for an eighteen-year-old among grown men.

Just catching up on the Luke angst. The cut? A bug? Bad taco?
Old school old guy, I like “for those six minutes, an opponent picked for his national team wrestled better than Luke.” ;)
He did wrestle better. However, discussing why Luke looked tired and downright gassed at the end is allowed to be a conversation.

Just catching up on all the matches. When James and Lilledahl get after their offense, good things happen. When they get more tactical, things get dicey. Hopefully Rademacher can win gold.

I can see why everyone loves going to the Black Knight as West Point is a beautiful campus but I should have stayed home. It seems FAU received a memo that the game would be two hand touch so they refused to tackle anyone. I don't know why else Army would have almost 500 yards rushing.

Luke gets beat 7-2 by Katsume Japan. He just seemed off he wasn't moving well and didn't seem to have much pop. Just an off event for him which we have never seen.
Luke lost the hand fight in both matches he lost. Square on forehead to forehead and he couldn't score from that position.

Also, I wonder if Sealy was chosen because his coaches were already going so no additional last minute arrangements needed to be made.

Luke on his Instagram reposted a photo of him catching gear from fans in the stand and signing them and then him smiling side by side with Cody.

Anything on why he looked off this weekend is speculation but he seems to be taking everything in stride and treating the weekend as a learning experience.
