Out of the bye week we look like the least prepared team in the country. Going to lose to a dog **** team
I agree except for the first half defense. They had to in after the block punt at the 12 yard line and didnt give an inch and then shutdown the goofers totally in the first half.

But the offense, penalties, turnovers, two Diaz routes wide open for TDs and poorly thrown balls, we couldnt run it because goofs in an 8 man box and we werent hitting those big passes.

It is weird how bad Iowa tends to look after a bye.

The bottom line is Iowa still has a garbage passing attack regardless of who is offensive coordinator. The formula to stop Iowa is simple: sell out to stop the run. If Iowa can’t run, the offense is trash and the passing game is nonexistent.

Don’t get me wrong, Lester is infinitely better than Brian Ferentz, but the problems that have always ailed Iowa football remain the same—bad quarterback play. Without good quarterback play, you can’t win anything of consequence. Yes, Iowa has won a lot of games the last 10 + years, but they almost never win a big game. And that’s because of quarterback play. Nate Stanley was the last competent throwing quarterback at Iowa, and he was wildly inconsistent. Sadly, the best quarterbacks of the Ferentz era all played two decades ago.

Time for KF to hang it up. We aren’t a serious football program. You can’t lose to garbage Minnesota

Actually, the routes were pretty open. Not sure what you want from Lester. You can't make Hank and Heck hit WIDE OPEN receivers.......

Kirk's yearly stinker. It's inevitable. This is why I'm ready for basketball and McCollum. I'm ready to watch a young coach who understands the modern game and is on the cutting edge of the sport.
It is time, Kirk has had a good run but the guy cannot win when it matters the most to both teams playing. Not some garbage bowl when the other team is disappointed and not engaged. I think 28 years is enough of a sample size. If you want consistency and above average results most years, KF is your guy. If you want a championship you better keep shopping.

Yep. Iowa is the most consistently okay program in America. Always pretty decent, never a real contender.

I'm not putting this one on the coaches. So many players failed to do their job today. I don't remember ever seeing this bad of a shitshow.
This coaching staff is paid a hell of a lot of $ to prepare these college-aged kids to play. Whatever they did these past two weeks - it was wrong. A clueless performance from so many players is a reflection on the coaches.

Have you ever seen an Iowa team make so many mistakes in a game?

This was 100% on the players.

And such a large portion of the fan base is happy with this that it will never change; at least under KF.
Yup. Lots of dudes with fat, annoying wives who don't want to even think about if we could do better. Just gotta accept what you have and try to be enthusiastic about it

Proving you wrong makes me feel a little better, so I got that going for me...
See post #30. It seems that KF has a long-standing problem with having his teams prepared after a bye. I guess I’ve got that historic body of work on my side after all. Sorry.

See post # 28. Iowa historically doesn't beat themselves. They did today, therefore an aberration. You said it was systemic of KF teams, it is not. I said nothing about games after byes, not knowing who those teams were or what their records were when we played them...

No. I said it was a systemic problem throughout the team TODAY. Turns out not being prepared after bye weeks isn’t an aberration at all. So I was right and didn’t even know it. Cool.

I wonder if the bad after bye record is something to do with maybe KF being too low key and not pumping them up as the game approaches? Our offense didnt seem to be real fired up all game

And the coaches can do much with guys fumbling 4 times and receivers dropping passes either. You don't normally see that from Iowa players

We're going to get a change before long. Good luck with your shopping for championships with the financial discrepancy we're at currently in this free agent market.

So a player fumbling a ball or your best WR dropping a pass right in his hands that gets intercepted is on the coaches poor preparation? Explain how you'd coach RVZ on how not to drop that pass that was right in his hands and got picked. Are you saying the coaches don't work EVERY day on ball security with the RB"s? Have you ever seen Iowa have 6 or 7 TO's in a game. Is that coaching. We stop Minny on a 4th and goal and our DB is lined up a good 1/2 yd offsides. Is that coaching when he;s a veteran players?
