After today's **** show....just another reason to put all the support and funds into the men's bball program. We finally have a coach worth being optimistic about and isn't satisfied just getting to the E8.

Sick of getting my hopes up with this football program...unless you enjoy going to another Outback bowl at 8-4

Can't wait for the season to start! Can't come soon enough

Yep, I'm waiting for basketball to start. I think this will be a very rough latter half of the season for Iowa. Diaz will be gone once the season is over, Lauck and Pieper will likely declare as well. I'm ready to watch someone who is revered as a savant and understands how the modern game is played.

Hear hear! I'm with you. Now, let's see how this ages if the Hawks win @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset a College Football National Championship. :) BUT I DON'T THINK SO! :ROFLMAO:

Agree after that minnesota debacle basketball cant start soon enough, will be interesting without Stirtz how the balanced scoring will look and excited for a true center at 7-3 and how the offense looks
After listening to Ben, If you like ball screens and especially flipped screens, we may see a good deal of balanced scoring.

I like Ben and he is a very good coach but last year we had some losses that rival yesterday's embarrassment.... @Maryland and @StatePenn come to my mind right away...

I’m officially 70/30 in on bball now, and if we go down to Connie next week it will be 💯 …and it might remain that way until Kirk retires.
"Until Kirk retires." I've been pining for that day for over a decade, and yet here we are, looking like a bunch of 7th graders who never played football before despite having two weeks to get ready for a mediocre Minnesota bunch. I guess that's what more than a quarter century of head coaching experiences gets ya these days . . .

Lolol... so Minnesota must have a bunch of 7th graders also, since we still could have won the game at the end and we had more TO's in that game then we've had in the previous 6 combined, and played the worst game in years.

Maybe he likes football. So basically to be a fan we have to have a shot to win the National title, or there's no reason to root for the team, is that it? Pretty freakin sad really.
100% basketball if we lose to the Badgers. Doesn't sound like someone who likes football just for the sake of football

Iowa is a bottom feeder regarding FB NIL as it is, BB isn't far behind. Those CFP games you want so bad come with a price tag that currently Iowa fan isn't ready to pay.

"Regular" Iowa fans don't need to pay sh*t. The NIL begging is damn ridiculous.

Can you imagine this scenario in any other pro sport? It's like being a fan of the Chicago bears and being asked to "donate" so they can afford to compete for a championship.

Fans buy apparel, fans go to games, fans cheer for the team. End of my responsibility and impact

Additionally...if Iowa fans were to radically increase their donations to NIL do we not then expect the bigger schools/alumni bases to respond in kind? To me, it is likely that "ante" will always be more than small market teams will be able to gin up.

Besides...what happened to all of the B10 and TV money? How did all of the programs/AD's slip the NIL funding over to the fans? I consider myself a fan, but I prefer to spend and/or donate whatever portion of my discretionary funds to other things, like scools, etc.

I know its well established that this is your "schtick" but where in the hell do you get off telling other fans what they should be donating or what they can say if they don't? Its been so nice that you've been unheard from for sometime. I guess we should have known it wouldn't last.
If you have no skin in the game, STFU that's my mantra. There is nothing worse than someone who bitches about the product on the field or court and does absolutely nothing to help improve it.

This is what really gets me. When will it ever end? The NCAA needs to step up and establish limits of some kind. There was always talk of parity becoming a reality in college sports, but NIL and big donor contributions have snuffed out that momentum.

Well my "mantra" is don't be a dumb ***. Is that clear enough? (If you actually think whatever sum your throwing away is making ANY difference, or that ANY of those kids gives a damn about you, you're the dumbest person on here). Until recently this whole idea of hard working regular folks PAYING players was never a discussion. Now because some schools have rich donors with more money than they can BURN, (literally) regular fans are asked to pay? pure stupidity. This will NEVER end and schools like Iowa without wealthy donors will NEVER put a dent in this unless guard rails are put in place. By contributing to this nonsense, the only affect your having is keeping the current lunacy in place. It has NEVER been, and is not now the fans job to directly pay players. The fact that you have been duped into participating doesn't make people who can actually think about what IS important not fans. It just means they have their priorities closer aligned to what's important.
