I'm still not sure whether this team is particularly good, but I'm damn sure that they've been fun to watch for 7 games, even after we lost our two best players. You get to see players like Elumenour, Carter, Reese, and Lightly blossoming into top players; players like Nabers, Holland, and even an injured Thomas show why they're really good, even great; and QBs like Dart, and now maybe McCarthy, show that you can win with them. The Giants may ultimately turn out to be an average or worse team, but they come to play. And the one time they didn't come to play (defense, in particular, not hustling and RBs not doing much against New Orleans), they came back the next week with purpose. It's a pleasure not to see a coach constantly losing his **** on the sidelines and hovering around the concussion tent like a kooky stalker; instead, this coach seems to be on top of just about everything and fixing it quietly, not with fits. A current example is the approach that he took with the kicker post game yesterday--"he's young, he'll work through it." I bet the kicker loved that. I'm not sure that it'll ultimately work. But I hope it does, and I'm damn sure that the former coach having a hissy fit would not work.
I still wonder whether Schoen will hamstring us, even with Harbaugh clearly in charge of personnel too. But I'm sure enjoying the season.
