Love this:
I hope that this gets us more high level recruits to take notice for 28 and beyond.
ACC PM was high on the fact that we could challenge the big dogs this year.

The step i’m hoping for is top 16 and hosting, that would be a huge step in the right directionI hope that this gets us more high level recruits to take notice for 28 and beyond.

we did switch to a 5-1 for like 6 rotations and then went back 6-2 and immediately lost the next 2 pts (it wasn’t the fault of any sub imo)I can’t help but wonder how good this team would have been if we had grabbed a good setter out of the portal. Zoe is so inconsistent with her setting. Which makes this opening set all the more impressive that we’ve stayed in it as long as we have.
We have a good setter coming in next year. That is ranked pretty high, right?I can’t help but wonder how good this team would have been if we had grabbed a good setter out of the portal. Yes our highest ranked recruit is quite a while. We have a good setter coming in next year. That is ranked pretty high, right?
i think he/she meant for next yearWhat happen to Thorpe?
The comment scared me too; I was scrambling looking for Thorpe injury info.i think he/she meant for next year
she did have to leave the first set the other day and missed her front line rotations (Miller even got a kill) but it looked like just a calf cramp and she seemed perfectly fine the rest of the matchThe comment scared me too; I was scrambling looking for Thorpe injury info.
Thorpe may be my current favorite Tar Heel. And by that I mean any sport. I can’t take my eyes off her game, her energy, her leadership.
Can’t wait till the day, when we do start beating Pitt and the Cards on a regular basis. That will be big for sure.At some point we have to stop the moral victories. While competitive, we lost to Louisville who we could have beat with a few more clutch plays.
We need to sweep this weekend and take down Stanford, who is higher in AVCA but lower in RPI than us.
We also need to take down UL at home and Pitt or SMU on the road while taking care of Miami and FSU.
Thorpe is going to be a big loss for us. Makes me wonder if we possible run a 5-1 with Marlie as Laynie as our true opp and we move Lindley to the middle.
I’ve never heard someone get lost in the middle of their own sentences this muchThis announcer is tough to listen to!
Can you give our student athletes some credit? I do not use the word luck. That just got beat and our players did not give up. They keep fighting. All those hard games they played against Nebraska, etc. helped our team when they fell behind. They did not panic nor did they give up. They responded. That is not luck that is called responding to the challenge at hand. That is how games are won when two good teams face off against one another. Luck does not have anything to do with it. It comes down to which team responds, have more resilient, and execute doing those defining moments. This team has been battled tested. You kind of kill the mood when you use the work lucky then come back and say awesome. Stanford got beat bottom line and luck does not have anything to do with it.We obviously got a little lucky with their setter missing about 25 points in the 4th set but still an awesome come back. 3 huge kills by Laynie to end the 4th set and then Thorpe got her mojo back and had 2 huge kills at 10-8 and 11-8 in the 5th. Obviously Taylor was amazing
I do not think it was luck. Again it sounds like some of yall are not giving our players any credit. Yall have been complaining about our setters not being all that good. Well, whoopie do, Stanford did not have a real setter today. According to some of yall our team does not have a real setter or good setter too. To me this evens out and we just kicked their butts because both teams where without a real setters since yall keep saying our setters are not all that good. What a great, great coaching move to switch your rotation 2 server to West. Drove the run that helped us seize control of the 5th set!
We got lucky that Stanford had to play ~25 points without a real setter. That got us back in the match. Either way what a huge win, now we just need to hold serve and see if we can nab an upset and steal a host spot!
