That’s insane. Just gave up interior position in case there was a rebound opportunity too. Man if I was a coach I’d be livid, but her head coach was literally standing in front of her as she walked off and did nothing.
And that was the point in the game where Atlanta turned it around and Reese finished with 30 points, 16 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks, and 3 assists. 14 point win.

She regressed to the mean on Saturday. And the Valkryies coach also adjusted when Stokes went out by playing a zone. Stokes is a force on defense. I hope the Dream continue to keep feeding Angel. They're a much more dangerous team when they share the ball but all of a sudden Angel now thinks she's their dominant scorer. We'll see how that plays out.

Right. I think it's easy to look at one moment in a game and leave out the fact she was also completely dominant. We can also question the coach, but we've also seen what happens when star is pulled for behavior the way White did.

Plus, Clark has quit on plays several times when she gets fouled to complain to the ref leaving her team 5 on 4 on the other end, but it's different bc it's Angel Reese.

Now, give me my laugh emojis everyone.

Except Clark bitches when she gets hacked and they don't call it. YES, she should stop doing that. Reese does that crap because of her pursuit of the "double/double" Its her stats she's concerned about. Most of her antics are when they don't pass her the ball. Her team mates in Chicago got so sick of her chasing doubles in games they were getting crushed in that they would stop passing her the ball on purpose. If seen Clark almost stop shooting and concentrate on assists. I guess you could say that's stat stuffing but she's getting others involved and helps the team. Reese was doing that in Chicago in games they were down by 20+ points in the last minute of a game because she still need a couple more points to keep her string of doubles going. That's ME first.

Maybe her teammates should have hit buckets.

What else is she supposed to do? Dribble out the time on the clock?

Winners want to win, winners want to score.
Cmon. She didn't HAVE the ball, she was demanding the ball and got pissed when they wouldn't pass it to her when they were down 20 points in the last minute and she needs 2 or 3 points to get to 10 points. They looked her off and she had a fit. That's nothing to do with wanting to win, that's keeping her streak alive solely for her benefit. Like I said I thought she'd outgrown that, given she's been able to establish herself as a force in the league on a really good team, but maybe not.

They didn't give her the ball and now look at her. DPOTY and in the finals. Where are the rest of them?

Once again you're making points that have nothing to do with the conversation. No one spoke about what should have been done by other players. Were talking about her obsession to the double double streak that was more important to her than the team, and it showed up several times. There were several reasons that Chicago had a serious locker room issues, but certainly one of those was coach Spoons leaving Reese in games the last couple of minutes when they were getting hammered for the sole purpose of getting enough points or rebounds to stay above 10 and 10 . By the end of the season some of her team mates just got tired of it and started ignoring her protests for the ball.

I already addressed that. Winners want the ball.

I don’t like the walk away but Reese had a mismatch under the basket on that play. Feed her and she gets the bucket or the foul, maybe both.

Ridiculous. You know the ONLY reason she wanted to be in the last minute of games in Chicago when they were way down was to get those double doubles. It had nothing to do with winning, she was stat padding for her own glorification, and you know that , and yet you keep coming back with that.

Right, and like I said, Chicago has nothing else going on so might as well get the double double.

being a loser org with a player hitting a huge double double streak is going to sell more tickets than being a loser org without a player hitting a huge double double streak.

We weren't talking about selling more tickets, (which they were horrible at that season). We were discussing her stat padding for her own recognition, and it pissed off her own team mates, and may have been one of several reasons Spoon got fired at the end of the season.

I'm sure it also pissed off her teammates when she was the only good player on the team.

True! Maybe it’s a Chicago thing. Afterall, Reese was an all star that year and Marina wasn’t.
Reese was an all star because she set that double/double record, even if several were in games like I described where she padded the numbers late in games where they were getting blown out. Still she deserved it, and she's found a good fit in Atlanta. Unless Indiana finds a way to BLOW up their roster, leaving Indy will be Clarks only chance at a ring as well.

Hard to take this league serious when a championship game starts at 9:30am west coast time.
Was going to post this in here. The joke of a league strikes again.

Best part is that the Hawks have a game that night. Which means that if GS wins, they may not even be able to hold a celebration and trophy presentation on the court. The arena staff may be too busy needing to convert the arena to a Hawks game. It takes about three hours to switch out the courts, plus they have to do whatever other cleaning of the arena that needs to happen.

The Hawks game moved back an hour to start at 8. They need the court ready for shootaround and warmups 2 hours before that. Plus a court switchover of3 hours. That means the WNBA needs to be out of the arena by 3 PM. A standard game takes about 2 hours, plus you need buffer for potential overtimes. This may be cutting it close.

We can only hope for several overtime’s and lengthy ref reviews to see what happens when they push out past their allotted time. A bunch of WNBA fans online are saying to just move the NBA game because those people are idiots that don’t understand the WNBA’s position in life. One org was a professional one that planned ahead with their arena and let their customers plan months ahead for travel plans of getting to a game if they’re coming in from out of town. The other org is a part of a clown show league that normally plays in an arena that can’t fit 4000 people in it and didn’t plan ahead on the chance their team could make the finals and want to play in a bigger arena. So guess which one has to take the scraps of whatever availability they get?
