Reminds me of the Ted Lasso scene where he is throwing darts. He quoted Walt Whitman who said, " we should be curious not judgemental". In Joey's case, I'm curious to see how he progresses. He may be a great teammate, maybe he is a great defender who challenges the starters, maybe, just maybe he'll break into the rotation before he's through at Iowa. I'm curious to see how this team progresses, not judgemental.

I wrote last season that the coaches almost pulled his redshirt their season at Drake. It sounds like Joey has continued to develop in his time here. This staff has earned our trust in their evaluation of players.

I stuck up for the kid when someone posted his name as Manicotti last season. I always thought he'd play minutes for the Hawks at some point.

Thanks for clarifying. I responded because last season some posters trashed Joey which I thought seemed entirely uncalled for. Joey Matteoni represents the type of developmental player Ben loves to have in his program. We have a deep bench but I see him getting a shot as a situational type player.

Clearly the meaning of that statement is talking about the greater college basketball world. News relating to scrimmages get very little exposure or traction. Pretty obvious when you actually read what was posted.
