If he keeps making plays like he did against UF and UT, he'll get drafted. He might as well. I can't fathom any NFL team seeing him play & think he has a future as an NFL QB.
I think it depends on Sellers' NFL draft grade. I could honestly see him returning next season. I'd imagine he's comfortable here and we're paying well.
Some team in the NFL will always roll the dice on a player as freakishly athletic as Sellers. You can coach up skill. You can't make someone be as athletic as Sellers is, though. You either have it or you don't.Cordell Stewart all over again.
He honestly could probably play a couple of other positions. I was just thinking after that TD effort he has Debo type speed and strength. Some team in the NFL will always roll the dice on a player as freakishly athletic as Sellers. You can coach up skill. I'm sure a number of NFL coaches/GMs look at his athletic potential and feel he's been poorly developed and think they can unlock his potential.
If Sellers leaves we'll still probably be looking for a dual threat QB transfer. If he does Woods is most likely gone.
I was pretty sold on Sellers needing to transfer and improve his draft stock after this season, but I think he has done a lot for his draft prospects the last few weeks. As it stands right now, I’d be pretty happy if he came back. I’ve always been high on Woods taking over the role after Sellers time, but think there may be attractive opportunities to go into the portal and get someone.
He is definitely inconsistent and there’s a good possibility something like that would happen next season. When he’s on though, he really does display some in matched attributes. I think even taking the good with the bad with Sellers is a better option than a lot of other quarterbacks. What stoodnout to me was when you said "the last few weeks". This is was concerns me. He has had a run before of playing well for part of a season, then laid an egg the next seaon.
Now this year he's had sone questionable games, but played well the last couple weeks.
Simply put, he seems wildly inconsistent.
Said plays were made as an athlete. He's made very few NFL-like QB plays. If he keeps making plays like he did against UF and UT, he'll get drafted.
He is the glaring reason for the losses we've had... If he plays decent, we win, if he sucks, we lose. Very inconsistent. I wish he could just see the field better and make the open throws... I just don't think it's coaching, but I'm not the one behind center. At least they're moving the pocket more and giving him the option to use his athleticism this year... Last year I totally thought they tried to make a pocket passer out of him - which he is not.
It almost reminds me of the interview with Deion regarding their QB after Colorado's game a couple of weeks ago.
I guess I shouldn't say the glaring reason for the losses... I should say the reason we didn't have a good chance to win....For sure. He kept blowing coverages and letting MSU score at will. To the tune of 41 points. And he totally blew the 2 pt conversion defense against UK.
He'll get drafted. There's no question. Just depends on what roundIf he keeps making plays like he did against UF and UT, he'll get drafted.

I'm fuzzy on the details from each game. What I do know is if you score 30+ points, you should win.He did throw a couple bone head INT's against MSU when they were trying to get back in the game. But yes, we had/have other issues too.
Honestly dont remember much of UK.

Botman - you can do better than this in trying to support silly frog comments. You've got a sea of accounts. Step up your game.I doubt he will be drafted as a QB. He will probably go to some team as a UDFA, and they will try to find a place for him, he could be some type of hybrid back probably. I doubt he will make $4 million a year in the NFL.

LaNorris has tremendous athletic prowess; runs like a truck, elusive, big arm; BUT, his biggest problem has been inconsistency. He can have a great 3-game stretch, and then a horrible 3-game stretch where he's throwing it into the ground, overthrowing wide open receivers, and trouble reading through his progression. Dude is a stud, but unless he corrects the baffling inconsistency, he won't have a long shelf life in the NFL.
I'd love to wager that he'll be a 1st round QB selection in the NFL draft. We can setup escrow. Not just in passing. There are times he runs like he refuses to be stopped, and then he'll run out of bounds yards short of a first down.
Like you said, baffling inconsistency.
True, he has too much raw talent to not go in a draft, but in what round and at what price point will a team take a chance on him? I just do not think a team will chance a high round pick on him. A late round or UDFA contract looks possible, not at $4 million guaranteed money per season though.Someone will pick him up. Theres always a staff that thinks he just needs the right coaching.

Ah, you're "me" now. Congratulations!
You've found the attention of a troll who's had a few different accounts on this board. His schtick is following me around and accusing half the board of being fake accounts, created by me. So called "bots".
You should feel honored. It usually means you've said something sensible. He cant stand that. Almost as much as he can't stand me ignoring him.![]()
Doesn't matter. He can't throw it to them anyway. What would Sellers look like this season if he had some elite WRs?
He thinks everyone other than himself is the same person.Who the **** is Botman?
I don't think we'll offer him 4 million again. It will be more than that.I dont think he'll fall asleep far as UDFA. Other "project" qb's have gone higher.
But yeah, he should seriously consider the 4 million if we're foolish enough to offer it again.
His eventual short stint in the NFL can wait a year for that much money.
I see what you did there. Ha.For sure. He kept blowing coverages and letting MSU score at will. To the tune of 41 points. And he totally blew the 2 pt conversion defense against UK.
