I still think this was the problem bringing back kylie, which i didn't like from the get go. She stunted growth of younger players without truly being a significant difference maker over the younger players.
Imagine if hannah all the sudden came back and wolicko's minutes were all but gone. I like hannah but i'm not sad to see her go. She thrived with a play maker but she was not a threat in any offense that wasn't transition.
Fair point. To be fair while neither was great offensively, Kylie was all conference defensively, and while Hannah never developed a reliable jumper she was/is one of only 4 player in Iowa history to score 1500 pts and grab over 900 rebounds. Now if Addie would have been a day one starter without Kylie would her confidence have been higher and would she have hit the ground running? Possibly. I still think Deal wasn't ever in great physical shape and wasn't completely prepared for what she was getting into in the Big Ten. Hoping our next 5 star player can hit the ground running and take the position from day 1.

She will have a good career if she can get that lean again. This isn't the personal attack but she was too heavy for her skill set and athleticism.
Addie Deal update for those who are interested. Badgers had an exhibition tonight vs UW Eau Claire, a D3 team. Last year's record 13-12, including a conference record of 3-11, so not a small school juggernaut. Wisconsin pulled away in the 4th to win 101-69. Announcers said Eau Claire has only been practicing one week! Nice job Bucky with the scheduling. Deal shot a blistering 3-13, including 0-6 on 3's. On the other hand, Teagan Mallegni was 6-8 from the field, 5-7 on 3's. Nice job Teagan!
Always thought Teagan could be a good rotational player in the right system
Meaning she is probably more of a 3 than a four with a good outside shot but not able to really create her own shot off the dribble
I don’t know that she would play in front of our 2-3 positional players on this years roster….. I do think she would have made the most of her opportunity with Dani creating and Ava getting double teamed

Deal's Iowa experience was what it is... the significant point is, looking ahead would you prefer 4 more years of Deal or 3 years of Carnegie? No one knows at this point, but I am betting on Dani !

Teagan would have played meaningful minutes had she stayed at Iowa this year, but that she's starting at Wisconsin tells me a lot about Wisconsin.
Same for Addie. They both left knowing they weren't getting the same opportunity at Iowa.
I hated losing Teagan…… Think she’s going to have a nice career….. Addie didn’t bother me much
Losing Deal bothered me a lot more before Jan smashed the portal. Now I’m not too concerned.
