The ladies had some success at the Falcon Open today

Open Division:
  • 103 lbs - Brooke Corrigan (2nd)
  • 110 lbs - Jadyn Roller (CHAMP)
  • 124 lbs - Molly Allen (CHAMP)
  • 131 lbs - Kailey Benson (CHAMP)
  • 138 lbs - Eleanor Dean (CHAMP)
  • 145 lbs - Daniella Nugent (2nd)
  • 160 lbs - Kaiulani Garcia (CHAMP)
No entries at 117, 180, or 207.

The Cowgirls take on #1 Iowa and #5 Colorado Mesa in a tri on Sunday at Carver. They'll face Mesa at 2 pm, and Iowa a few hours later.

Most of Mesa's lineup is ranked in the top 10 and Iowa's lowest-ranked wrestler is #6.

Was reading how we had the #5 class last year-and for a club team that’s insane. Anyone know if all those girls made it?

We have anyone that’s gonna compete with Iowa?

Saw on ISU’s roster they picked up 3 girls off of the club team. Seems as though they want to compete for NCAA championships. Has there been any progress on a school sponsored sanctioned team?

Complete hypothetical but it seemed like we had a lot of momentum w the women’s program last year… several high level recruits, Rebecca Roper and John Smith taking active roles, senior level RTC transfer etc. I wonder if people were led to believe it was fast tracked for D1 quicker than it actually was??

Seems as though the guys team has taken quite the liking to the women’s wrestlers. i.e. Jax and Cody

Their Tik Toks started showing up on my feed. I'm a big fan of them as well. Hope they can find a way to grow and continue wrestling. OSU needs to have a major hand in all things wrestling.

They are wrestling at the Falcon Open that starts today. I believe they sent 14 girls. Big one that is missing from the group is Millie Azlin, she is still recovering from shoulder surgery after our season ended last year.

Just like hockey, it will take 100% outside funding and likely full endowment of ongoing expenses for OSU to ever add another varsity sport.

Without future changes in conference consolidation, it’s much more likely OSU eventually drops sports than adds them. Just the unfortunate reality.
