Then you’re not paying attention. Al shares this with you geezers when he does it. He advocates for Rutgers with his money unlike you with just your mouth.
Come back and lecture this old geezer when you reach 47 years of continuous financial and in person support for Rutgers athletics skippie.
Not to mention claiming to be a 365 poster who's been here less than 8 months lol.

IF one wanted to be an optimist - AJ has games and snaps under his belt, no one looking over his shoulder this week, no real pressure or expectations....just let it rip.

If I recall correctly, there was a different poster who went to internet poster film school and quite seriously declared that Surace would be incredible. On the other hand, Al's pronouncement are always, to some extent, schtick.

Is he becoming a tour guide?

But as to fball I voiced very large concerns after seeing him in the first spring game. Did not appear to be a d1 qb or athlete, and nothing since then change that.

The statue flat footed standstill MO is truly other level amazing. How that has not been beaten out of him is a KC special.

BUT I still hope that a blind squirrel lucks into a nut just one time

Al has been here 22 years and change and only has 36 thousand posts but you tell him to get a significant other? Al travels to away games and multiple a year and puts his money where his heart is NIL. The man has a life outside of this message board. Get a significant other should be reserved for the losers who have 160 to 200 thousand posts in less time. Not the guy who really bleeds red donates his time and money not just opinions.
Whatever Al

Surace is lacking confidence and is playing nervous. He isn’t feeling the pass rush and isn’t throwing accurately due to mechanical errors. He is looking nothing like how he looked in high school, which was a confident player for which the sky was the limit.

He is the proverbial deer in headlights. The kid can play. He needs reps and he needs experience. And he needs the line to better protect him. With Needham out, looks like Chin and Chris Vigna will have to step up.

we’ll need a big day from Surace if we are to be successful. The kid just has to go out and do it.

Wasn’t there a thread that he referred to Surace as the next Tom Brady?
Lol He is always wrong.
There’s probably even a Tim Brady somewhere in America who would have played just as well against Northwestern. And a Tom Brody. Maybe even a Tammy Brady and a Tina Brody.

Its not like Schiano has a history of ruining QBs or anything

Athan made the NFL.
Mike Teel made the NFL.
Tom Savage made the NFL, even though he transferred. The kid still developed at Rutgers.

if the kid has enough talent, Schiano will get him to the show.

I root for Surace being a local kid who went to a high school close to me. He was struggling with basically zero zip on the ball greater than 20 yards. He is not a Big 10 QB!

I rooted for the kid but 3 for 12 is horrible. All his yards on the long TD. Time to give Stearn a shot. 6’6” and he looked like he had the best arm on the team.

AK (Duff, Strong) and Teel (Britt, Underwood) had NFL level receivers and decent OLs (Pierce signed by Eagles). If they had Dremel and Washington (not B1G starters at any other place) they don't get drafted.

RU has Duff still but the OL is scary. Duff catches a lot of stuff other WR wouldn't. Great WRs aren't just hands. When I played I was surprised how different things looked from TV to being in middle of the mayhem. ITs hard to play QB and have beasts coming at you from all directions and swatting at your arm. Even great QBs struggle with that. NYGs beat Patriots by sending guys up the middle at Brady. Giants knew he didn't like it (couldn't see).

Athan fell in his lap but he did develop. Thats true. He got better while at Rutgers.

At the time I believe you were insisting there was no way he could replace Wimsatt.
