What would be your gameplan Harvard?

I've never really seen anything but criticism. No ideas/solutions.

With that lofty background, I think we'd all love to hear your thoughts on the matter. :)
Dear Ms. Beamer,
Thank you for your response. As you are aware this forum is merely a message board for fans to voice opinions. With that said I would encourage you to enlist staffs from other institutions that would have a wealth of experience to present ideas/solutions to address any deficiencies in your program. :)

Why do we have so few coaches who want to come to SC? There are plenty of programs in worse situations who seem to be able to fill the position.

You are righ though, that we dont have that gazillionaire. I wouldn't say Beamer has won impressively. He's won inconsistently, maybe.
Lurker, I am not sure but I think of the reports of Kirby Smart having an agreement many years ago and parlaying that into the GA gig, the OC from OSU who we supposedly had an agreement with but he went elsewhere. SC is simply not a hotbed program and I think back to Spurrier's comment when he was hired if "why not us? Why not the University of South Carolina"? It simply has not been a top notch program saved those few years during his time here. Fair about the Beamer and impressive comment. I expected someone to respond to that and to further clarify, he has done things that only he and SOS have done ... this past week there are comparisons to this and the fact that he has beaten more top 25 programs than Lane Kiffin ..... I did not go out and compare but I suspect those are true. Bottom line, he does seem to recruit very well (relative) and if can continue with that and learn/expect to win (like we did during some Spurrier years), we can get on a good roll. Thank you for responding and let's hope that Congress does address this and/or we get that gazillionaire ....

P.S However, if you would have your husband make an offer, I would give it some consideration. 🤷‍♂️

Ha, I dont trust congress to do anything but mess things up more. But I suppose there's always a chance.

I get what you're saying about Smart, but I dont think we're the only ones that has happened too. Imo, one can look at other programs like us, even in the SEC and see that they attract coaches. Even if they are lower end SEC teams.

I see Shane hitting a few moments of success, but also sandwiching that between literal failing seasons. I think its the lack of progress, and more random inconsistency that makes me queation just how high these highs are.

He's got nothing. Useful or interesting ideas/solutions would be predicated on an actual knowledge of the game of football and understanding of historical background. As it is, he is among the pack of dumpster dogs that eat their own poop, bark at the moon, and present it as 'opinion'. Which, as noted, he is certainly entitled to.

Someone from Sports Illustrated (I think) wrote about the Kirby thing. He was genuinely interested and then UGA fired Richt and went straight after him, but I don't think there was ever an agreement in place. Smart was actually meeting with Tanner and someone else from SC the morning Richt was fired. The other guy you mentioned was Tom Herman and it seems pretty clear now that he was using the interest from SC to jockey interest elsewhere. He would up being hired by Houston and then a couple years later Texas.

Dogs eating their own poop? You seem to get very upset over people posting opinions on an anonymous message board.

Have you thought of spending your time on something you actually find enjoyable? You dont really seem happy with anything that goes on here.

Well, except that you found Coopie again.

Meeting with and having an agreement in place are a long ways apart in the world of coaching hires. UGA had offered Kirby the DC job after the 2010 season and he asked Saban about taking the job. Saban told him not to take it because he could get the HC job there in a few years. When Richt was fired, UGA had a list of names that was pretty much one name, Kirby Smart. Kirby and his wife are both UGA grads and both played varsity sports at UGA. I don't think there is any way he would have ever turned that job down.

Herman was the hot name for a while, he did great at Houston, but he really fell flat as a HC at both Texas and Florida Atlantic.

To those who ask why SC isn't a desirable HC job, look at the history of our head coaches. The job here was pretty well the end of their careers as head coaches. The HC job at SC is seen as a career killer.

Again, you're full of criticism and offer no ideas. That's not really the Harvard way.

True, and yet teams on the bottom half of the SEC that aren't us seem to be able to find candidates.

I could see a coach who does well here, getting poached by a better school. But imo, you take that. Id rather a coach do well for a time and get poached than for a coach to do bad enough no one else wants him.

Only problem is, we never have seen it. Certainly not for head coaches. Scarcely few of our assistant coaches have moved up to greener pastures either.

I sampled 4 different AI Models for best coaches in the SEC in terms of HC results based on recruiting rank. (doing more with less)

The only two names that were in the Top 5 in all models -- Shane Beamer and Eli Drinkwitz.

What you say Botman Bozo Brigade?

Best conference in the country and one of the Top 5 coaches in terms of what he has to work with.

You can't begin to explain why you're upset with Beamer even though he's posting Spurrier figures --- now this.

So much for your cries of coaching mediocrity.

If anyone doubts that it's one individual spamming up this joint at this point-- this should lay it to rest.

Yes, I do believe the doubts of one individual spamming up this joint have now indeed been put to rest.
It's not often someone such as you is willing to out themself.
Commendable.

You always come with substance "Harvard"

All you're doing at this point is showing authenic posters that you're one guy with a bunch of accounts whose sole purpose is to complain about the program all day long without any context whatsoever.

Very strange.

Umm, about that.
The major flaw with your theory is I continue to use the same account name to respond to your posts.
It would seem that I would be using multiple account names, per your theory.

Botman -- at some point you need to provide your inspiration for all of these different characters. Harvard Gamecock is pretty bland but some of these accounts are quite unique.

You're attempting to apply logic to a poster who stalks people on multiple message boards, claiming the entirety of those boards are all the same guy, who's really out to get said stalking poster?

Do you honestly expect a rational answer?

I think we're just gonna have to ride with Beamer and take the good with the bad. We're going to lose games we should win, but then he'll pull out wins like UF and UT every now and again.
I think being competitive and having a chance to win every game is a positive

Jmo, bit I dont think any gamecock fan seriously thinks we're going to start competing for championships.

I think championships get brought up with the idea that we cant compete for them, so therefore no coaching change should be made, because no one can get us there.

Agreed. It's not even a GC thought. 8 wins is all any coach needs to keep his job forever.
There are probably only 3 other teams in the entire 16 team conference that tgink that way,
Miss. St., Kentucky, Vandebilt ... thet's the reason those 3 teams always get up for us. They see us as an equal that they should beat regardless of record against us.
Even JCB talks about marquis wins. Was very excited about our match up aginst ND a couple of years ago, and we almost won, so
good enough.

Unless we're going with "every time you step on the field you have a chance to win". Then even Vandy is in that league.

It's money. The more money you spend, the more wins you can achieve on a consistent basis.

We have one of the top coaches in the league based on results-to-money.

We had a chance to win every game but Bama. I’ll take that. I remember the days when we had to quick kick on 3rd downs for field position and get throttled. I was there when FSU punked us 59-0. Glad those days are long gone

Well, we're moving the target a little.

As long as we had a chance in every game is now every game but Bama, with UGA still on the table.

I agree that if we were in every game, it would make a lot of people happy.

Edit: i thought I would add, I think to really be in every game, we'd have to be one of the top SEC teams, and we're not. Thats not a bad thing. We are what we are. A milling to lower end SEC team.

I'll say, for not having any head coach or even coordinator experience, Beamer has performed right at or slightly above our historical norm.
