Could Sellers return next season?

I was one of the first to suggest that Rattler was not going to be a “one and done” and people on FGF gave me a lot of grief. So I don’t think the OP is crazy. If Sellers is getting paid anything close to what we’re hearing he could easily come back and retire comfortably (with the money invested). One million alone, in T. Rowe Price’s Spectrum Income fund would give him about $5,000 a month in dividends. Imagine 10 million.
I don’t think receivers play into it too much. This guys video kinda hits the nail on the head with Sellers game. Elite athleticism, rpo short passes, and deep balls. You don’t see Sellers working down progressions or making anticipatory/back shoulder type throws.
Wasn't there someone else on her a while back calling everyone who disagreed with him 'botman'? Who was that? Either he went away, or I have him on ignore..... Or is this him with a new/different username?

Yes. And its the same poster. He was Wardjr on the old board and then coopie or coobie when he followed me here. Disappeared for a while and came back under this name.
The irony of his claims about other people using multiple screen names is not lost on me.
Blackflag is another poster on the site. He shows up randomly, spews garbage and disappears.
Thanks, but how many big plays do we see from our WRs? Guys like Alshon, Rice & Deebo made their own big plays.
Yes! Blackflag! That's the account I blocked a few years ago. Called everyone botman. Accused a single user of having multiple accounts to agree with and like each other. Used to post that creepy Mrs Doubtfire looking out of a second floor window gif.
They were actually real WR's. - DJ and Mazeo have shown some nice flashes here and there but our QB can't / won't get it to them with any consistency.
If we are paying Sellers $4M a year, that is as stupid as paying Beamer $8M a year. What has Sellers done that make him worth a quarter of that?I don't think we'll offer him 4 million again. It will be more than that.
How many of our WRs would start for any other SEC team? If you don't have some elite WRs, how can anyone expect a team to rise above the competetion?

I would say 1 for sure. Mazeo. DJ Black would be next but he's iffy on your criteria. None of the rest.
Edited to add, I'm unaware of 2 starters being out because of injury. Could be, but I don't know.
Well those three guys are some of the best receivers in program history so I don’t think it’s a fair comparison. Would alshon be dangerous with Lanoris, absolutely. That would be fun to watch. What I’m saying is that this receiving corps is capable. DJ Black needs more targets.
But what you're saying is not what I'm saying. We need some more of those kinds of guys
Regardless if Sellers returns on not, we are not likely to get over the hump without at least one WR that is elite talent. We have basically 3 guys that are big time playmakers....Sellers, Stewart & Orban.
Where's the WRs like Bruce Ellington, Ace Sanders, or even Damiere Byrd?

Long answer: If he does so well that we would want him to come back, he'd be good enough to go in the draft. On the other hand, if he plays poorly enough to knock himself out of the draft, we would not want him back.
Bonus answer: With the portal, coaches now have to think about retention of backups. Sellers coming back for a 5th year means we likely lose Cutter and/or Duck.

Yeah, again I’m not comparing this wr corps the alshon/deebo/sidney or the wr corps as whole when Byrd/ellington/sanders were together. That was a fantastic wr room. There are a lot of guys in the room now that are young/were really highly recruited. As of right now, you’re right that there isn’t a dominant, elite receiver in the fold. I mean Mckinnley wasn’t that type of receiver and he still put up numbers. My original point being that these guys aren’t getting a ton of opportunities to put up numbers right now. I’m not going to sit here and rule out anyone in the wide receiver room not being able to develop into a star.
Quarterbacks have big numbers without an elite receiver all the time.

Of course we want him back if it happens. On top of his play, he brings major exposure to the program.
If he gets a larger contract for next season, he might consider staying.
If you can bank $10mil+ over the course of your college career alone, that's a pretty good deal.

Who is worth $4mil a year? Game is changing to quickly around top level players to pay them like this. Why have a $4mil qb when his targets are not of the same caliber?

Yeah we could run around in circles with this for a while here. I think the original point I was pushing back on is that an elite receiver would cure Sellers inconsistent play. I just don’t believe that the receivers are a big factor in that. But yes you’re right about big passing numbers on bad teams sometimes. I’ll gladly take any big time, 5* receivers on the team.
