If the ref had called a fall against Dake, would it have been wrong? I don’t know specifics of a touch fall on a feet-to-back situation.

Yeah, the ones Tgar ran into in the Maldives last year were total privileged ********.

One would imagine the Russian and Iranian wrestlers only want to live normal Athletic participants lives and revel in their wrestling communities.

Awesome tournaments from both. Congrats to Kyle, just when you think the competition has passed him he does this! And congrats to Bo! A local kid who never ceases to amaze me. Years ago I sometimes wanted to see his opponent win but it was because of how good he is and how good his opponent had to be to do it. Very proud for him with his first of likely many world titles!

I saw one referee call one that was less of a fall than Dake's, but fortunately her call wasn't confirmed by the other two officials. Technically, there are no longer any "touch" falls with the current rules. Fall calls are definitely very inconsistent from referee to referee. There is that one video going around from this World Championships where the referee refused to call an obvious fall and the other two officials had to call it. Back to your original question, I wouldn't have been shocked if they called a fall on Dake there. Edit: Here is the video I referenced:
