I think Chip Kelly is an xfactor for jNW. I think the hawk defense is way better than Oregon's, I think

the general opinion this year i thought indicated that or defense is legit. chiles, those receivers, and kelly are lethal. have to plan for a shootout…hope we didn’t empty the td magazine today

Facing Chip Kelly, and what has been proven to be a fairly efficient NW offense, and a pretty good NW defense (could be 7-1 next week), and a big, physical, QB who has already beaten us before.

They win this game here on the road at Oregon, I think that'll be a big confidence booster for them. We want them to win. We need to beat them as highly ranked as possible.

Vandy had 4 ranked wins last season, but at the end of the year none of those teams were still ranked, and Vandy got left out of the playoffs because of it.

Iowa really needs Northwestern to find a way to win this game and get to 9-3 (assuming a loss to Iowa) to give the Hawks a ranked win. The only other opportunity to a ranked win (as in teams still ranked at the end of the season) is for Nebraska to beat OSU and go into that game at 9-2, same as us. Sayin being injured does make that look more possible.
