Towson finished 17-14 overall and 10-8 in Coastal Athletic Association play last season. The Tigers were picked fifth in the league’s preseason coaches’ poll.

Senior guards Zoli Khalil and Thalia Shepard return after averaging 9.4 and 9.3 points per game, respectively, last season.Towson added FDU transfer Ava Renninger, a first-team All-NEC selection and 2026.

I could see the hawks coming out a bit flat after the game Thursday night, game is close for the first quarter or so and then Iowa pulls away to a 92-67 victory

Should be an opportunity to experiment with different line-up groupings.

Also, there was some indication that Jensen would employ press defenses this season. Full court, 3/4 court, half court traps …. whatever, let’s see it. With a legit 9 player rotation, it seems to me that coach can be more aggressive with less concern for potential foul trouble.

One thing I think is noticeable with Layla is while she is never going to be fleet of foot she is much more fluid in her movement this year vs how she was very robotic last year.
